If its like many of their other games in korea, P2W is something that will come inevitably. I play lineage II and its super P2W, never used to be, but past few years its changed heavily toward that.
not saying it will happen overnight, but if its like how they did with Lineage, its happens slowly and added bit by bit until the store is flooded with RM purchases.
Bit of an update for anyone that might be interested:
Game is experiencing a bit of a resurgence, population feels higher than it did at release.
Used to be that there were 3 EU and 3 NA servers, there were merges and now there is just 1 of each. There are 4 new/returning player channels named Olvia that have bonus xp that you can play on until level 59 or 30 days.
With the new channels there's a combined 40 channels per region (instead of 36) and they feel crowded, even though the world is bigger than it used to be.
The current class balance meta is something like:
Top tier: Wizard/Witch/Warrior/Sorc/Berserker (Wizard is currently flavor of the month, VERY strong. Warrior is a bit slow at PvE but makes up for it in PvP)
Mid tier: Ranger/Musa/Maehwa
Low tier: Tamer/Ninja/Kuno/Valkyrie
All of the above classes have their awakening weapons now. (Awakening is essentially a 2nd weapon that is generally much more powerful than the original weapon and greatly changed how characters are played.) To get a sense for what their movesets look like, you could take a look at:
The 13th class, Dark Knight, is releasing on Wednesday. It won't have its awakening at first so it will likely be on the weak side for a while.
Supposedly it's one of the top classes in Korea where it has been out for a while and has its awakening.
