Ya MW2 flavela scene is what im talking about, trying to make it through the level and guys are attacking from all directions, total chaos, like battle scenarios should be. The airport scene is how you do cinematics right, show me a story but let me engage with the game, this is not a movie. MW2 petered out over the second half and got a little silly.
also, BFBC2 SP>BlackOPs SP, treyarch is the most notorious for "cinematic" hallway FPS design. although I did enjoy World at War SP.
During New Years Gamestop had a "Buy 2 get 1 free" deal on pre-owned games.
One of the ones I picked up was BFBC:2. Ive played roughly 5-6 hours of Black Ops since then. ****ing intense game. Love being able to spawn on squad members in the middle of a gun fight etc. Blowing **** up. Vehicles but yet not too overpowered.
yea i have played the 1st level of SP in all the recent good FPS that have come out then like 15 min into it... im like fk this and log in to play MP..
DICE knows this tho so they are just teasing us to keep us tickled.
Yeah I wish game developers would just forget about single player and focus on designing games with solid, well-balanced, competitive, thoroughly-tested multiplayer.
Half-life really was the exception. The Single-player campaign was immersive and groundbreaking in it's style. The multiplayer was decent but really took off when the mod community took over and created CS, DoD, and TF. People are still playing versions of each of those 3 mods to this day. That, to me, is amazing.
For the battlefield games, SP campaign is worthless, it's all about the MULTI
I think that modern war setting for SP is played out and too hard to be different in this day and age.. But take like Fallout, Rage, Bulletstorm.. etc. they all take place in a fictional/fantasy setting.
I thought BF2 for the PS2/360 had a good SP campaign...the hot swapping between soldiers was a great idea and I can't believe it didn't catch on with the later versions of the game.
