Re: Battlefield 3

Latest fad among all the cool kids:

Teammate getting into a chopper but YOU want that chopper? Just shoot/RPG them! Sub jeep for chopper if you like. Yes someone team killed me in a jeep and took it on Oman where there's a jeep every 50 yards. **** is getting way too common.

Re: Battlefield 3

Finally managed to put some decent runs together in the attack helo's on Oman after watching those vids. But stingers are still the bane of me, and I struggle to get rocket kills on ground targets a bit. Flying level on consoles is taking some work too

http://www.gamespot.com/news/battlef...800000-6384956

"Battlefield 3 Premium is off to a quick start. EA Games Label boss Patrick Soderlund told USA Today in an interview published today that the $50 pay-once downloadable content offering attracted 800,000 users in its first two weeks, driving $40 million in revenue."

wow, was hoping that nobody would buy this
50 dollars for a game you can't play in full until next year, plus if you have back to Kirkland already, your only saving 10 dollars lol

wtf are you talking about? It's an expansion. And it's cheaper than any expansion ( of the same size ) released before. Booster packs for BF2 and BF2142 cost way more while adding less.

If you love BF3 it's a super value imho, especially if you are EU and buy in $ while under promotion ( like the one on amazon that just ended). If you don't, why do you need an expansion in the first place?

Re: Battlefield 3

well, you'll have to wait until February to play the last of the five expansions offered with premium, how do I know if I''l still be interested in all expansions next year?

Re: Battlefield 3

Well, then you don't buy the pack. It's not like the pack is the only option.

While I hate DLC like the net guy, this isn't so bad, considering it adds quite some maps too. You get the chance of a discount for pre-ordering just like you get for full games. If you don't like it, you don't have to buy 'em all together and pay a few bucks more for the full pack.

I didn't get premium because I will probably not play all the maps to the fullest because I have the attention span of a sleeping walrus when it comes to games ( and because I wasn't interested in CQC ), but I still find the deal nice.

After all, you get 20 maps, + 40 accomplishments and a ton of weapons and vehicles. Not that bad imho.

Re: Battlefield 3

What's the best counter-helicopter strategy if you are in a helicopter as well?

Will the following work: lock on with heatseekers and fire one, he deploys flares, switch weapon and quickly switch back, lock on and fire 2nd heatseeker.

This is assuming running without useful jet pilots on your team. Ive got to get better at flying under radar

Re: Battlefield 3

That's what I do. He does the same, plus he has laser painter so his gunner also hits me with a guided missile and I die. (I'm not good.)

Honestly I think half the battle is flanking.

Re: Battlefield 3

Flanking is hard on Oman when playing as US, as they can see you coming a mile off, but in general I agree. Winning that initial heli vs heli battle to give you some breathing room is super important.

Laser painter is great if you have a competent gunner, but joe rando's aren't usually close to that.

ECM is great if I remember to fly backwards through it, otherwise they lock straight back on. Important to dodge those tanks/helis with painters
