you can spot enemies but it seems you have to be accurate witht your spotting not aimlessly move around clicking r1 which works in bf4 and bf hardline

I feel like the game borrowed some technology from Pokemon Go. I've been playing as a medic and have the tracking active to earn the medic medal (Order of Hippocrates?). The first goal it tracks is get 50 kills. I don't know if I've had that many, but I certainly have more than the 9 it says I have. It's like not getting credit for my kilometers walked to hatch an egg.

Isnt there a big jump in quality this time? Imo it looks like they have really tried hard. And i will speculate that its blizzards overwatch that have fueled this. Blizzard always delivers basically and now that they entered the fps i bet the BF ppl are going out of their way to be as creative and polished.

Quoting myself here.

It seems like the achievements you need to earn the medals (for instance, the first one for the Order of Hippocrates is to get 50 kills) might reset every day. I played last night and started at zero when the last time I played I was around half-way to the mark.

Highlight of my session last night was shooting down a plane with a tank's cannon. That was quite satisfying.

Of course now that I have gotten the hang of this game a bit and am a SUPER MEDIC, the beta is going to end.

I saw my housemate play this a little. It looks exactly like every other Battlefield game. Other than looking pretty amazing visually, is there really much this game has to offer someone that's generally bored of this type of game within a few hours?

(yes, I realize this looks like I'm complaining. I'm not)

No lock-on weapons as far as I have seen. That's one major difference. Also no optics on every weapon. But if you are bored of Battlefield, I don't see why this one would be any different. It's still a large scale MP FPS.

I tried to play medic for a while. Maybe this is just beta noobs, but folks seem to always skip revive rather than pressing Q, so most of the time there is nobody for me to revive. Have you noticed the same problem? I have to yell at my squad on voice chat to press Q (which I normally have to do anyway because folks don't spot!)

No, there is nothing "genre breaking" about the game. I think this is going to be a cool Battlefield game, but it's still a Battlefield game.

Does the beta end today? Or is it over already?

Didn't play this again after Overwatch season 2 started up - was there any point in not quick-reviving and waiting for a medic? didn't seem to give points or anything (from what I heard, didn't ever actually get revived!), and you could just spawn back in a good spot with no trouble.

It hasn't bothered me one way or another. Of course, it's frustrating to run through bullets to a guy only to have him disappear right when you get there, but that's not necessarily because he opted to respawn quickly.

I suppose waiting to be revived can help if your team is trying to capture a location. There are also achievements tied to how many kills one can get in a single life, so I would assume being revived would help this. Then there are the people who care about K/D ratios.

Overall, though, it doesn't seem to really matter.

I just like playing as a medic in most games. Less pressure to be a killing machine and people appreciate the support, but then when I get good, I can be a stud AND heal people, which makes me look awesome.

For me, this game feels new because I haven't played most of the COD and Battlefield games. I played COD 1 and 2 a lot and then a friend gave me Battlefield 2, but I haven't played all the new, modern setting ones of the last decade or so.

Overwatch is more fun than this, but I've had fun with Battlefield 1 and would consider a purchase if the price comes down.

When you hold space to accelerate your despawn you still have to wait the same amount of time to redeploy. So it's nearly zero risk to not hit space and see if you get revived.

In game modes like conquest this isn't a huge deal, although it can make a huge difference in whether you capture a point. But in ticket-based game modes, and especially rush, saving the ticket (life) is valuable, and the momentum of keeping your team alive and in the fight is even more important.

The deluxe early edition is out today. Don't think I'll get it. It's f'n 79.99 and not sure it's worth it for the couple battle packs you get. If it came with premium then yeh I might consider it. The regular version comes out Friday. Cannot wait though. Looks great.

Been watching a friend stream it and it looks pretty amazing!! I'm not the biggest fan of FPS's, but I think I'm getting this.

I love that it completely lacks the bull**** most of the MP's I play have. No futuristic crap, no wall jumping or jet packs, no sidekicks or mystical crap. Just guns and gear!!!

This is the exact reason why I love this game. Brings me back to BF1942. Pumped to play 2nite. Anyone plays on PC and wants to frag let me know.

Grinding out the early levels is pretty frustrating. Found it difficult to get a good setup together, most of the guns suck. Great game, might be my GOAT FPS.

I played BF1942 a lot and that's what I loved about that game. Most of the maps were good and it concentrated more on tactics then all these extra crap. It seems like this game will be similar. Sometimes less is more.

I am having a deja vu: Every time I install a new BF game, I spend hours trying to make it run without crushing.

The game has been stable for me, running on Windows 10 and a 980 Ti. But the game does occasionally exit fullscreen mode (for example, when I get an achievement and origin pushes a pop-up in the bottom right corner, but also sometimes randomly).

Also, it's incredibly obnoxious how difficult it is to leave a server at the end of a match.

I got it to work. The game runs smoothly. I am surprised to see 60fps on ultra settings, the same as I get in BF4.
