If she can reach 800resist, 6-7k armor, 40k life and at least 600 LoH w/o shield, then she can switch to dual wield if she wants, dual wield is not necessary though.

Standard build would be something like this
Frenzy-sidearm
Leap-Iron Skin

WotB-insanity rune
revenge-provocation
war cry-impunities
Battle rage or charge

Ruthless, weapon mastery, and nerves of steel or that one other armor passive.

If she has gold/$ to spend, a WW barb is worth looking into.

About 1 million gold. think she has about 500 res without buff, about 35K life. No LoH atm.

i have similar stats with a lower dps weapon and act 2 takes way too long for me still. act 1 is a cakewalk though and easy farming. i use the build listed above almost to a T. I want to try out a WW barb, but thats too expensive to gear up for atm.

Can I get some insight into improving my gear? I'm at the point where it seems like small upgrades are going to be in the 50m+ range but I see people with similar gear with much higher DPS.

Need more Str and Crit Chance, I know, but I'm not sure how to go about getting it. I have a bid on a pretty decent mace that I hope to win.

Argh. I am attempting to replace Bash with Overpower in my WW build but it's driving me nuts. I watch videos of others with the same build and they don't seem to have much issue maintaining rage. I am having a lot of trouble with having WW on my left button.

Any tips?

Noob question, which mainhand should I use for WWing?

Have 34% crit, 351% critdmg before including mainhand

I feel like the axe is better, might be killing stuff slightly slower, but surviving better with the extra vit and the 10% crit = more fury on average

Damn if that axe had a socket. I don't think sword is ever viable for main hand with ww.

ya, you really need a mace/axe for the 10% crit with weapons master

Rich ****s that already have enough crit can also use mighty weapons for the fury gen.

Trying to dust off my barb for some fun. Can you guys check out my build/gear and make some recommendations please. I'd like to do the ww build, but also played with some guy last night that had like 80k HP and was stunning everything. I liked that too.

...any suggestions appreciated.

This is my barb and I use endless wrath build with a mighty weapon. I really love this set up and its way faster then anything else I've tried before. Also this build allows more freedom on items since you don't need 50%+ crit to keep your fury going.

General thoughts:

you need more str/AR

Lots of your items are ~50AR, finding 65+AR replacements should be very easy and cheap.

As for STR you can get that on belts, shoulders, pants.

Am currently at the beginning of Inferno Act 2, getting insta-killed.
All my gear is due for a upgrade, just looking for a bit advice, in what order I should do it, basically where I get most value for gold invested? Of course, any specific recommendations (eg. get a helmet with xyz stats) would be much appreciated.

I'm impressed you got through A1.

Get a helm with a socket and an amethyst.

You have multiple pieces of gear without AR. The ones you do have often have low rolls (37 on your belt). Getting 60-65+ on every piece of gear (except jewelry) should be doable with a little work. On chest armor 'reduced damage from elites' is a very undervalued stat that can really help with surviveability, one point is worth maybe 10AR before Warcry (obv doesn't help against white mobs... but if you're dying to them you got bigger problems).

Also you're using WotB, CotA, AND Earthquake... thats gonna give some huge DPS but if that doesn't kill everything you got nothing else (which I guess is your problem). Once your resistances are higher and you can take more hits you should probably switch in Revenge -> Provocation. Nearly every Barbarian (except for ones with really top end gear) use it for a reason. It will keep you alive. Also since you're using LoH you'll probably be better off switching to Frenzy since the attack speed will proc the LoH more often.

This will help you with figuring out how much protection you'll get from adding a point of different stats:

just adding on to bremen. Get better rings, ammy and bracer before anything else. And changing stomp for leap w/ armor rune will help for survivability.

I disagree. Rings/amulets are the most expensive items. He going to get a much better return per gold spent on other items first. The amulet isn't even particularly bad, STR/VIT/IAS/LoH/Socket.

took me longer to type this than load up D3, go on AH and find a 53 str, 73 vit, +70 loh ring for 5k gold. you can get a 45 str, 71 vit, 165loh ring for 10k in NA severs. There's a bunch of them.

70str, 40vit, 285 loh, and has a socket ammy for 20k.

10k for bracers with 40 str, 70 vit, 30 fire resis, 40 all resis, +190 armor.

All 4 of these would be a noticeable improvement over his current gear for less than 50k total
Barbarian Thread Quote

uh, that ammy would be worse, imho

Obv Bracers are easy to upgrade.

As for the rings, I plead ignorance. I don't think I've ever bought one under 1M

I was stuck in A1 for a while, but when I basically just upgraded the helmet I had to the current one, I had no problems. It is possible I was dualwielding, I honestly dont remember, havent really played for about a month.

Also my skill selection was different, think I used WotB, Leap w/armor, warcry and battlerage.

Thank you all for the suggestions, now I got some pointers to go by.

the main-hand, off-hand stuff for the ww build confuses the hell out of me. how should i be arranging/gemming these for optimal benefit? thanks.

Put the highest emeralds you can afford in both. Axe = MH, Dagger = OH.

After that you should prioritize Vit, Str and LOH. I'm assuming you don't have warcry on.

So I can get away with just the 541 LoH I have now? Yeah, that is base, no wc. This guy is still just starting act2, just been piecing him together here and there.

Noob question:
When Revenge is activated it is highlighted, right? What does it mean when it starts flashing as well?
