It'll appear as a buff icon near where war cry/battle rage/shrines show up

Ok so I can just get by act 2, barely, and in act 3 I can handle the trash, but I'm still barely killing anything, my dps is low, but I'm pretty much all defensive just to survive. Here are my unbuffed stats, my gear, and my skillz. What do I need to focus on?

You need to get your resists up to ~700 unbuffed.

Also your dex is crazy high, dodging doesn't allow you to use revenge, which means you're basically wasting stat points with it

You need more All Resist and Life on Hit. The stat on almost all your gear is all over the place with a lot of single resist and dex. Look for armor with All Resist/Vit/Strength. You have more then enough dps to clear Act3.

Did all this dexterity just happen or did you gear for it? Because that's a lot of dex.

A shield with a higher block amount would also help (ie: sacred shield).

As for your spec, I used:
* Ignore Pain with the 20% heal rune,
* WotB (Insanity) instead of Ground Stomp so you can kill stuff.
* Leap (300% armor) or Furious Charge (dreadnaught) instead of Faltering Shout as an escape skill + higher survivability when ignore pain is on cooldown.

Just got this trifecta, anybody knows how much its worth with the high res all?

Barbarian Thread Quote

at least 50m imo

I didn't intentionally stack dex but I figured it was a decent stat, I mean outside of str/vit/all resists and sockets I haven't sought out anything intentionally, other than a high block % on my shield. I'm just at the point with my gear where upgrading it is like really expensive and I'm pretty poor, as you can see I have a little over 1 milly gold.

My survivability is strange, it's like I will be going along just fine most of the time but out of no where something will completely **** me up. My str and dps is probably ok, but when I try to go more offensive in my passives I get torn up pretty bad. I think wrath of beserker instead of stun is probably something I can swap in at this point though, so I will.

I guess everyone is stacking crit % and crit damage stuff for dps?

I think that's pretty normal for inferno. Even if you destroy most things, the right combo of affixes or a stacking of plague/molten/descrator (especially when frozen, jailed, or walled in) that hits you in the right way can kick your ass, particularly if it's in your weakest resistance. I assume even some of the pretty godly barbs still die occasionally due to bad timing + bad elite affixes. And then there are the tanky super-godly barbs worth 100s of mills that probably almost never die, but I can't hope to be one of those just yet.

i just played my first short session in inferno up to finding Cain in the cathedral. I got wtf owned by the only champ pack in there, and it got me rethinking if i'm geared up enough. I m sitting at ~12k dps, 38k life, 5500ish armor and 350 all res (some at 400).

the only gear i havent upgraded to level 60+ at this point is helm/chest/boots/rings/ammy because those are all much more expensive. I have about close to 500k in gold, so i may try to upgrade another slot or 2. my weapon is only 450 dps that i picked up for like 40k gold, so i guess i can stack some decent dps if i upgrade that to a 7-800 dps weapon?

Thoughts?

look for a 1h wep with a socket with 800+ dps. they have gone down in price a lot from a few weeks ago, and would probably be the easiest piece to upgrade to increase your stats.

you should be able to get one of those for 500-600k pretty easily, maybe even one with a socket and 100+ str, get either a crit gem or a loh gem for it and you should be good to go for act 1 at least, since your other stats don't look too bad.

my old 250dps weapon had 350 loh, and the new one only has 125 or something. That seemed to help a tone with act 3/4 hell.

lots of players have done 500k and 1 million gold challenges and farmed all of act 3 with that gear. You guys should have no problems with proper auction house shopping that didn't take them more then 1-2 hours. Look up zrave's 1 million challenge and kripps 435k challenge for real good examples.

He doesn't need a new weapon, I did A1 with 6500 dps. Bode, I was about where you are when I started A1 wrt dps, armor, res. I just kept stacking res/armor till I could kill stuff, the tradeoffs I made to get better armor brought my dps down to 6500 but as long as you don't die you can kill anything
Barbarian Thread Quote

Need armor and allres before anything, enough hp and LoH to stay up then you can tune from tank back to crit dps once you have the gear.
Barbarian Thread Quote
07-05-2012 , 09:01 PM
problem now is to upgrade my weapon dps above the 450dps i currently have, i also have to give up either a good chunk of the 250 str or 235 vit it has on it, and even then the only thing i'm seeing is an upgrade to 550ish dps
Barbarian Thread Quote

You should value socket > life on hit > vitality > strength when considering starter barb weapons in my opinion.

Giving up the stats on your weapon shouldn't be an issue as your gear catches up, but you'll never make up for the lack of base dps or life on hit on a bad weapon.

Thoughts on price? Trying to get some good MF gear, ended up buying this
Barbarian Thread Quote

28m and it can only sell for the same or more depending on the future of MF imo.

If they nerf MF I am going to do almost full clears where I just single the elites and kill minions. Just respec with 2min cooldowns and Boon of BK for the final part

Sell the extra spots on d2jsp if you don't have any friends around. Some people pay like 1-4m for spots on these runs so it may make up the value wasted clearing extra mobs.

Presumably you have solid enough MF gear to handle any single elite tho, questionable I'd have to test.

so i just played multi player with my DH and there was a barb in the group as well and just noticed "war cry"
zomg!
what a sick all res boost and it last pretty long it seems.
with that guy doing the war cry I had my all res at 1150
the guy said he was ashamed to be a barb when he saw me tanking literally everything
(well he wasnt the best geared barb obv)

war cry is really excellent!
