I wish zombies didn't move at full sprint when they see you. I prefer my zombies slow, plodding and relentless.

1 - As a total noob you should probably go inland, look for barns. It's important that you know WHERE you are right when you spawn - look in bottom right of screen, it tells you right when you spawn in what town you are by.

The inland = vet, coast = noobs idea doesn't seem accurate to me. Lots of experienced evil players will arm up in-land at the military spots and come back to the coast to camp the big cities.

2 - Weapons can be found in houses, apartment buildings, barns, deer stands (which are usually on the edges of forests facing a field, look at the map I posted earlier, the deer stands are highlighted as blue diamonds. Again, this map is useless if you do not know where you are and cannot figure out how to navigate (at least somewhat) using the Sun and landmarks.

3 - Getting around zombies - you need to walk by most of them, do you know how to do this? It involves Shift key probably (depends on how you're set up).

Basically if you are near any zombies at all (if you can see them) you should crouch run. If you are actually close to them you need to either crouch-walk or just flat out crawl. You shouldn't get that close to them that you need to crawl, though. Moving this slowly is dangerous as it makes it easier for other players to kill you.

Stay off the roads - your footsteps are louder on roads.

In game map works (press M) but as mentioned, you need to pick one up in the game. In some servers it will tell you where you are, it's server dependent. Otherwise you need to figure it out based on landmarks.

Towns do have lots of enter-able buildings, you'll need to figure out which ones you can get in. (There's no trick to getting in, either you can open the door or you can't)

I'm mixed on the starting weapon. Took me (as a slightly experienced player) all of 20 minutes on my first try to get a revolver with 16 rounds. Switched that out for a 1911 with 5 mags, then found a shotgun with around 16 slugs, all within forty minutes. By the end of the day I had a silenced M4.

Definitely does seem to be making it too hard for new players, though.

I too finally found a weapon on like the 17th attempt. Used the Generals map on page 1 and found a deer hut. Got an AK, and got so carried away that I decided to shoot some Zombies, which unfortunately brought the whole Village down on top of me. Oh well got 17 of the bastards before I got wasted. Progress has been made...................

On another game I spawned near an army barracks, near airstrip or something, was just about to aquuire some goodies, and some mother****ing player came up and hacked me to death with an axe.

Made some progress too...

wandered around in some building and another player totally startled me around a corner. Didn't want to shoot him, but the adrenaline made me click an entire makarov mag in his head... Then I heard another dude with an axe not 5 seconds later and had to put him down too. Felt bad but I HAD MY FIRST WEAPON!!!

Down to 2500 blood tho, thanks to axe man... Have two blood bags but only other people can give you transfusions, right?
