The storyline didn't intrigue me very quickly.

I could probably keep going, but suffice to say; it's not THAT great. I would -1 your suggestion to add it.
I agree with this. To truly appreciate how awesome a game is, you need to play it during the era that it came out. If you don't play the game during that era, you'll never know how great that game truly was. YOU'VE MISSED OUT AND IT'S GONE FOREVER.

I haven't played System shock yet, I have heard from many people that it's awesome, but if I played it today for the first time it would probably feel ****e (Compared to Bioshock). But If I had played it at the time, then bugger me sideways and call me Susan, it proabaly would have been a classic gaming experience.

Try Deus Ex Human Revolution. 'tis a good game, don't you know.

Second this. Never played a basketball game since but still.. it was great.

Others that need seconds that don't seem to have them from the list above:

Braid
Red dead redemption
Rome total war

Other things that were decent possibly worth making the list that I haven't seen mentioned:

Wings (amiga version not the remake)
Sensible soccer
Hitman series
Zelda Ocarina of time
Rainbow Six (maybe rogue spear is > r6 imo but either are valid)
Shadow of the Colossus

Sure I'll think of more.

Nominate Space Quest 3 - definitely one of the best adventure games ever, but it's going to be tough narrowing down which of the Space Quests/King's Quests/Leisure Suit Larry games go on the list.

Nominate Leisure Suit Larry 6.

Second Red Dead Redemption.
I def nominate the Sierra Adventure games (King's Quest, Quest for Glory, Space Quest) and Shadowgate for NES

I always like the idea of things like this but it's already way too confusing and I don't really think it's reaching and "good" conclusions. Not to say that the wrong games are on the list, just that the whole system is kind of off...and that's because it's basically inherently impossible to do. Feel like it would be easier to do it by genre and then compile it or something of that sort.

Also when people make these lists, I'm not sure what the point is of separating games in the same series unless some are vastly better than others, like the FF series. For anyone who grew up with the Super Mario Bros. series, I don't really see how you can separate Super Mario 64 from Super Mario World or the original game; they all brought new dimensions to gaming that hadn't been seen before, they were all incredible when they were released, and they all still hold up to this day because of the responsiveness of the controls and balance (I'd throw SMB3 in there as well). Same goes for Metroid, Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, basically any franchise of that caliber (yes yes, I know Sonic is not at that level but they are still fun to play).

I don't know if I can continue this without coming off as a dick/jerk/snob so I'll pretty much just end it, since that wasn't what I was going for. It would be cool if we could do this in a way that would give people ideas to go back and play games that they never did, though, on an emulator or something.

This is such a good idea that I might actually flesh it out into a thread...if you want to help let me know. I've got some thoughts on how it would work.

Game raped. I remember playing it on Dreamcast, though.

Not gonna bother +1/-1'ing anything right now because I'm way too lazy, but how the FYCK hasn't anyone mentioned Sonic yet?

What a crime.

Pretty sure Twisted Metal 2 is in my top 5 (if not easily 10) most hours put into any game. So good.
