Wii Sports: I don't know how anybody over ten years old can play this for more than 20 minutes without getting bored.

Excluding maybe Super Mario 64, there has never been a game with better controls. Anything you can think of in that game you can do. Running and stopping and leaping had literally perfect precision. No other platformer has ever come close.

The visuals were also great, and most people had a blast playing it. It also finally gave the PSX a mascot, which was vital in the system's growth and eventual status as having the most absolute # of solid titles of any game system in history. There's a reason Crash and Mario64 got nearly perfect scores from every single review.

Also GodJr's devoting of games like Katamari, Tony Hawk 2, WoW (which is a game I hate but is obviously top100), and Crash make it literally impossible for me to care about his opinions. Pretty much the epitome of limited scope. "lolz if it's not a JRPG or slow grinding skinner box ITS STUPAD!"

How much of a justification are we supposed to write to give something -1? Shouldn't -1 be just as accessible as +1? I don't have the time to write stuff for all of them but here's two:

-1 Warcraft 3

RPG and RTS was a match made in hell. They backpeddled on calling it an RPS when they saw how disappointed all the fans expecting a new RTS title were, then left in all the RPG elements anyway. Computers at the time couldn't handle large poly counts on screen simultaneously, and their only way of dealing with that was lowering the supply cap, AND creating the upkeep system to discourage players from ever reaching the supply cap, neither of which do anything to make the game more enjoyable other than keeping it running smoothly. This game was a trainwreck.

-1 World of Warcraft

Zero original ideas, just a mish-mash frankenstein creation from parts of previous MMOs. Its true big innovation was the amount of detail that went into broad appeal and customer retention, and doing those two things better means making the game worse, and they did. No hardcore PvP, no consequences for dying (people intentionally kill themselves just to travel ffs), combat is slow and boring. The endgame is people working together to acquire the latest fashions??

There's literally nothing fun about this game, I don't think a single WoW player has ever cracked a smile while playing it. It's not fun at all and it doesn't even try to be, it thrives on encouraging obsession and compulsion in the people who play it.

11 million people just staring glossy-eyed into their WoW clients with dead bored faces chasing after the carrot that Blizzard keeps moving just out of reach so they can keep charging their credit cards.

I upvoted a total of ONE JRPG and ZERO games that require/encourage any grinding, you ****ing ******.

I don't approve of the Mortal Kombat 2/Doom2/TF2 +1's but everything else looked solid. He was the first guy to mention System Shock 2 and Sympathy of the Night, two legit snubs compared to a lot of the crap getting votes.

SOTN was sick good but I can't upvote it until I get 100% in it because it makes me feel guilty.

This is obviously not going to work out. What we should do is take a Top 100 (or Top 25) from an IGN list or some other source, and then make some system for modifying that list.

**** off. The '80s and '90s ones are solid. You either haven't played 3 or 6, think that 2004's Magna Cum Laude is the beginning of the series, are a 48 year old woman and heard on the news in 1990 that there were these pervy games out there, or you just hate adventure games in general. The latter is at least a somewhat defensible position so I hope that's your issue. 3 and 6 are top-notch adventure games.

Not that I'd want to read them all, but in a perfect world I would want a rule that no one can un-nominate games unless they made an entire list of 100 games themselves. A lot of people like to just hate things that other people like, or, more to the point: hate things that are popular.


Anyway, I want to second goldeneye. Anyone saying that "it isn't playable now" I think is missing the point...to me this isn't a list of the top 100 games I want to play right now, and compared to everything else that was out at the time goldeneye was an amazing, amazing game.

being overrated does not make a game any worse. The best game ever could be overrated, does that mean it shouldn't be in a list of the top 100?

I have been saying for years that Michael Jordan is overrated, and everyone whines at that opinion. I always say he could still be the best player of all time and be overrated, so meh.
