The Well: Verneer

Quote:
A stranger is being shown around a village that he has just become part of. He is shown a well and his guide says "On any day except Saturday, you can shout any question down that well and you'll be told the answer" .

The man seems pretty impressed, and so he shouts down: Why not on Saturday? and the voice from in the well shouts back: Because on Saturday, it’s your day in the well .

You may ask me any question about whatever you like. I will answer to the best of my abilities if I choose to answer your question.
We haven't done a well in uNL in a while, and since I have time this weekend and feel like talking poker and life, I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Trouble spots, general advice, trolling hate - all are welcome

What is the number one piece of advice you would give to the average micro stakes player?

Re: The Well: Verneer

do you think there are any online poker sites currently accepting US customers that are worth playing on from the US with money that isn't 100% expendable?

OP wrote (among other things) some moving up threads which are just about the best resource you will find on this site or anywhere else to improve as a micro player.

Verneer, thanks for everything you've done for noobs like me.

Did you end up writing a book based on your experience (the ultimate resource for microstake players you were mentioning in your thread) and if yes where can we buy it?

Don't make it harder than you need to.

Play tight in EP, as loose as the blinds allow you to in LP, fairly straight-forward postflop, and always look for ways to reduce your tilt.

Whats the worst downswing you have ever been on at micro stakes in terms of buy-ins and over how many hands.

None that I found. That said, Lock Poker offered me a pretty good risk/reward during the iPad2 promo, and I still have money there. That said, it's a very small amount which I can risk to have frozen/lost.

I didn't like their answer on segregated funds.

How many hands do you play per week and over how many tables? Btw read/watch you’re 2011 micro stakes series it was amazingly informative thanks so much for doing that.

Probably 30 BI's at 200NL over 40-60K hands. There was some major tilt involved and it was def a major learning experience.

In the last two years, it was probably right around 20 BI's.

Thanks for doing this. first time long time...

1.When (if ever) poker is made legal will there be a second poker boom?
2. Do you think you can climb through the merge limits and how long would it take you?

I haven't played NLHE in about a month, but if I was to play a session right now, it would probably be between 4-6 6-max tables. Hands I dunno ... I would normally play between 50 - 70K hands per month.

I liked 4-tabling Rush.
