How important would you rate wellness factors such as eating well, exercising, and a proper sleep schedule? I know it seems like your sleep schedule is ****ed which is why I bring this up.
If you could ask yourself one question from the perspective of a new poster on 2p2, what would it be? And answer it obviously.
I remember reading you watched poker videos frequently, something I have employed lately is treating videos as a classroom and taking notes. I have dual purpose for this, 1) on DC I have no idea wtf vids I have watched and 2) it also allows me to review videos very easily w/o having to spend an hour re-digesting the same information. Do have anything similar that helps you recall the ideas displayed in poker vids other than just an acute ability to remember that stuff?
My level of focus could improve a lot but I'd say it's around a 7. It's something in the area of 9 when I start and 5 when I quit, so we'll average it out to be 7.
If I was a new poster and could ask myself anything it'd probably be something along the lines of how to think deeper and be a more critical thinker and to not look at things on the surface but to dig deeper. That doesn't make much sense but you get the idea.
I don't really take too many notes, but I probably should because I end up missing a lot of small information, and I have to watch videos 2 and 3 times. I mostly just watch them and try to find one or two key things from each one but I definitely think taking notes on key hands is better than my "system". :P

It's harder to start now than it was back in 2005 because people are so far along on the learning curve that it's essentially you swimming upstream. New players have to work so much harder now to catch up with people that are beating SSNL and MSNL because people are ALWAYS learning and adjusting and so if a player that beats MSNL is adjusting right now, you'll have to learn 2x as much daily to just get up to his caliber. Does that make sense?
Ex - in 2005, there were maybe 5-10 really good MSNL regs, and there wasn't very many places to learn about poker, so people beating SSNL could eventually catch up to them. But now those people are also beating MSNL and there's so many poker schools that just churn out SSNL grinders that it's just gonna be hard to catch up to them without a lot of work.

I hate the Steelers BECAUSE Ben's from here, and I hate the Browns just because. Jags for life!

Sure. Basically there are two reasons why we 3bet: For value, and as a bluff. KQ and AJ have really good equity against a preflop opening range, so we could probably 3bet them for value, right? Wrong, because a lot of people will fold KJ and AT and all the hands we have dominated when we 3bet. So without history, 3betting a hand that's in the middle of your range like AJ or KQ or 77 is turning it into a bluff since little to no worse hands will continue and our hand has too much equity for that. I'll let you go and think about it from there, but just consider before you 3bet - is it for value or a bluff?

I've skimmed thru Fees' book, and it's very good and very well put-together but I haven't had time to read it word for word. He's a very good player and a smart mind, so I have no doubt that it's a great book.
I don't really do anything with my money really, but I guess I decided randomly one weekend to drive 8 hours to Turning Stone to meet a friend from Massachusetts.. so that was kinda fun. But I mostly don't spend my money on big things just because I don't feel I have enough extra money to do that - I'd rather use that money to get up to 5/10+ and THEN ball out.
I don't really watch basketball other than the Cavs, but yeah I suppose so. He's so clutch in the 4th quarter.

1. Do you think people put to much emphasis on stats and the 'standard 2p2 tag' playing way. You know 21/18/4 etc and people strive to much towards playing a certain way ven though it effects their game negatively?
2. Do you think people at uNL still focus to much on their cards and not on villain's range?
1. Oh for sure, everyone loves to make their stats look pretty, I mean we even have a thread DEVOTED to stats. The thing is, if you don't know why you're doing what you're doing, your stats can be pretty and you can still be a huge loser in the game. Focus on learning preflop a LITTLE bit and then focus on postflop, because postflop is what matters, not if you know to 3bet a certain hand at a certain point. If your stats turn out to be 26/18/2, who gives a **** as long as you're printing money.
2. Definitely, but I think you have to just because people aren't gonna do what you want them to do even if you can get their range right. It's something that people do but I wouldn't say it's necessarily bad yet, but if you get to 200nl and are still only focused on your cards, that's where the problem starts. But playing your hands face-up and subconsciously focusing on their range is just really not bad.

I don't drink, at least not right now. Mostly due to me being 20 and having no 21+ friends in the area.
