If anyone is looking for a full-ring study group, I just started one and am currently seeking active players who would like to discuss HH's, do sweats, and just try to improve in general. I have been playing FRNL for about 2-3 years, playing as high as 200NL and am currently beating 25NLFR for about 4BB/100. If you're struggling to beat the micros, need some motivation, or just want a place to post some brags, then "#we.GRiND" is the place for you. Add me and I'll invite ya!

TheNextGosu @ Skype

edit: I welcome players of all limits/games (SH/HU), so really anyone is more than welcome of course.

I'm interested in sitting-in/listening to the SG. I added you on AIM because I don't have Skype atm. Do I need to get skype for the group?

Not a study group but I'd really like someone to talk to about poker strategy and compete against. I don't mind what limit you play. All that matters is you're intelligent, competitive and your main focus is being a great player rather than mass-tabling like a robot. I have a strong desire to succeed and want to be more than mediocre.

I've played maybe 40k hands since December and play 25NL and 50NL. I've not used skype but I will be on msn, PM me if you want to talk. I'll probably block/delete you if I don't think you meet the above description.

I almost exclusively use Skype, as it's where the rest of my Poker friends & study groups are. It's very similar to AIM, but just has a better way of managing group conversations and easier-to-use voice chat. Hope to hear from you (and anyone else interested in talking some Poker).

Just a quick question about small pairs....I play 25nl and am having trouble deciding a strategy for playing 88 (even 99) and lower from early to middle position with the action folded to me. I know some schools of thought suggest folding in EP. I know calling puts me a serious risk of getting raised, which will happen often with aggressive players. SO... if the sole purpose for getting involved is to flop a set, which is 7.5-1, am i better of raising and giving myself a chance to win the pot pre-flop instead of constantly open calling and eventually losing more? Thanks.

Hey, I been playing live for 7 years (4 seriously... 2-5, 5-5) and just started online about a month and a half ago. I play 25nl and want to improve badly. I have played about 20k hands and am -$20 at the moment, however was +$70 and -$110 at points through the month. I'm looking to fix leaks and combat online tilt, which rarely happens to me live. Talk to ya soon.

Hi, I would be extremely interested in joining a study group to get useful thoughts and opinions on HHs, strategy etc. Hopefully could offer some insight to others too. Looking to learn and improve my game. Having a group of peers to work with would be very beneficial I think.

I'm 25 (wow that's really old, almost typed 23 lol) and based in Birmingham, UK. I'm free most of the time so time zones aren't really too much of an issue.

I'm currently playing 5nl 6-max on Stars (at the deep 250BB tables) and looking to move up to 10nl in the very near future. After that 25nl, 50nl and beyond!

I have an 11.99BB/100 rate at 5nl but only over ~6k hands, 3.17BB/100 at 10nl over 26k hands and a monstrous 0.80BB/100 at 25nl over 20k hands Mainly 4-tabling 5nl and will probably do the same at 10nl. Looking to play 30-50k hands/month.

I can commit a lot of time to any group at the moment as I am "between jobs."

Wuts up guys,

Roughly a month ago I started a study group for tournament players and it turns out that there are two new openings. I am extending the group to cash game players too because I personally think their input is valuable and tend to think deeply about hands. I am looking for someone who puts in a lot of volume and understands the game. This type of person would need to be understanding, reliable, punctual, component, and free on Wednesdays @6PM EST. I assume there will be a lot more than two people interested in the group; therefore, I will need everyone interested to send me a PM that they are interested and with the questions and answers.

Name/general info about yourself (age, country)
Site you play on
Stakes you play/ link with your stats
When do you play (hrs per week or general days)
Biggest upswing/downswing you have had
Goals
Why should I choose you?
What are your leaks?
Hobbies/interests

I'd like to setup a UK study/sweat group for the above steaks. Ideally I'd like about 15-20 players for this, I'll be setting up 2 skype chat rooms;

1. Study Group Capped at 20 players. UK exclusive.
2. Poker Chat room for as many players that want to join, not UK Exclusive.

The format of the chat room, is basically a free for all, do what u like, say F and B, post hands, lots of banter, moan about beats, post hands, share poker news/links, etc.

The format of the Sweat/Study Group will be much more structured.
• Google Excel Contact sheet for everyone, including steaks, handles, best times for sweats/study sessions for each player, development areas, poker goals for this year, etc!
• Prerequisites are that you Blog a review at end of month and possibly Twitter poker accounts for everyone throughout the month to keep the network of players in the loop regarding current state of mind!
• 1 Hand per week homework assignment that everyone posts on various forums, various steaks, and discusses the crap out of for the duration of each week, sharing lessons learnt, rota basis so each player picks a hand each week!
• If we can't enough players and get something like 8-10 players, I think it'll be a good idea to get everyone to take on a player at a lower steak to mentor so as to build a tight nit group of players and murders the online poker
• Must also have a mic to join group, also if there's any programmers in C+, Python, SQL or SAS who play below 25nl would love to hear from you and happy to include in this despite playing lower then 25nl.

Just add your skype in here and i'll add u each to discuss further. State that its for uk 24/7 and i'll add you all in skype to discuss further.

Cheers, Be Lucky!

I'm looking for a studygroup, I used to play PLO, but I kinda started all over again at poker, and moved from NL2 to NL10 past month. I think joining a study group would be really good to keep me motivated to reach a decent volume each month.

I've been playing poker for quite a while now, oftentimes on and off for months mostly as a hobby (predominantly live 1/2€). Recently I finally committed myself to playing, studying, improving, and living poker every day. Right now I play NL10 online and I'm very pleased with my rate of improving. I really want to join a study group and/or get a partner to talk poker with. I live in Germany and I put about 6-8 hours a day into poker, so I have a lot of time and energy for long discussions.
Just send me a PM if you're interested.
