This was another hand from my session earlier, and I need a better opinion on it to learn from whatever mistakes I made.

BB: 100 BB (VPIP: 3.03, PFR: 3.03, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 33)
UTG: 90.4 BB (VPIP: 75.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 4)
CO: 107.4 BB (VPIP: 24.85, PFR: 22.42, 3Bet Preflop: 6.52, Hands: 174)
Hero (BTN): 181.4 BB
SB: 83.8 BB (VPIP: 17.89, PFR: 11.58, 3Bet Preflop: 9.68, Hands: 105)

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has T T

UTG raises to 3 BB, fold, Hero calls 3 BB, fold, fold

Flop: (7.4 BB, 2 players) 3 9 2
UTG bets 3.6 BB, Hero calls 3.6 BB

Turn: (14.6 BB, 2 players) 4
UTG bets 7.2 BB, Hero calls 7.2 BB

River: (29 BB, 2 players) 8
UTG bets 21.6 BB, Hero calls 21.6 BB

UTG shows J J (One Pair, Jacks)
(Pre 82%, Flop 92%, Turn 95%)
Hero mucks T T (One Pair, Tens)
(Pre 18%, Flop 8%, Turn 5%)
UTG wins 68.6 BB

Seems fine especially without a heart.

You don't say what stakes these are which could make a difference. A $5nl open from UTG may be a bit worse than a $25nl open from UTG. I assume it's from $5nl, though.

I think it's wp, TT seems like a good combo to call, especially if we're 3betting JJ most of the time. I think it's good in that our Ax that floats flop may want to continue on turn when we pick up equity to the straight, so when we get to the river I think we have a pretty strong bluffcatcher especially without a heart.

Remember, we're supposed to be wrong most of the time when we bluffcatch river, that's just how pot odds works.

Looks fine. I guess river can be close but I wouldn't fold, especially against a fish, without reads on this board texture.

He open raised UTG so he's got a tight range.
He's not betting the whole way if he had a hand like AK or AQ.
Don't overplay over pairs.
This isn't a float.

Overfolding like this isn't awful at 5nl, but when we start getting to stakes with more competent players this becomes a standard call down. Like Monsees said, we don't have to be good here all that often. We can't just assume that some random never has a worse hand here.

Overplaying this hand would be raising at any point, calling is not.

Thank you for your input man! This was my first shot at 5NL and I went on a 6 buy-in down swing and instantly thought I wasn't ready for it. I needed an opinion on these hands because almost all of the ones where I lost a majority of those buy-ins were all hands likes those.

wp. It's close either way, but I would just tend towards a fold.

At 5NL, players are value betting 9x three streets and don't bluff at a high enough frequency with three barrels. I would call down to river, then make an exploitative fold.
