Top Set 3Bet Pot vs bad reg

V has a 7% (6/92) raise CBet in 3Bet pots

3Betting flop looks so nutted, and I have the board covered so my hand blocks his value and I don't need any protection. I'm going to get this in vs JJ/66/QJ regardless, so I think leaving room for bluffs and gutshots to barrel off is the best play.

Thoughts on checking the river? Not too worried about balancing here, although it's nice to have QQ in my checking range since I'm checking AA/AK otr almost always.

I like checking b/c it can induce a spaz bluff from T8s/98s otr, and his range is either the nuts otr or pure air (should never have JJ and 66)

Hero (SB): 100.5 BB
BB: 100 BB (VPIP: 33.33, PFR: 13.33, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 16)
UTG: 133.3 BB (VPIP: 22.33, PFR: 17.23, 3Bet Preflop: 6.98, Hands: 7,978)
MP: 232.9 BB (VPIP: 17.27, PFR: 13.42, 3Bet Preflop: 5.31, Hands: 4,342)
CO: 100 BB (VPIP: 18.25, PFR: 14.40, 3Bet Preflop: 5.41, Hands: 903)
BTN: 158.9 BB (VPIP: 22.17, PFR: 19.06, 3Bet Preflop: 10.28, Hands: 6,629)

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q Q

UTG raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 11 BB, fold, UTG calls 8 BB

Flop: (23 BB, 2 players) 6 J Q
Hero bets 7 BB, UTG raises to 23 BB, Hero calls 16 BB

Turn: (69 BB, 2 players) 4
Hero checks, UTG checks

River: (69 BB, 2 players) K
Hero checks, UTG checks

It would be pretty relevant to include what limit this is. The caliber of play differs greatly depending on the level at the micros. I think it's pretty optimistic to assume that any average villain with those stats will have T8s here, regardless of the limit.

I think it's fine. It's the second best hand in our range, so my first thought is to bet, but I don't see what we'd be getting value from.

Re: Top Set 3Bet Pot vs bad reg

When he checks back turn and river is a K, I think it generally hits our 3bet and flop calling ranges a bit harder - he's not 2betting AK without a flush draw OTF. Is V flatting AA and KK IP against 3bets? You seem to have quite a large history with him, so those kind of fine details can help.

If you think his 2bet OTF is nothing but the top of his range - either AA, KK, JJ, or 66 potentially, it seems +ev to 3bet him with the hopes of getting it in by the turn. I do see bad regs at lower limits 2 betting hands as weak as AQ or JQ in this kind of situation.

I put T8s in his range b/c this dude doesn't have set opening ranges. I've seen him open JTo UTG before.

This is 10nl.

And yeah it's weird, I don't see any hand in his range that raises flop, checks back turn and calls the river. KT probably won't even find a river call.

No, he's always 4betting AA and KK to some absurd sizing. He has JJ and 66, but like I said flatting leaves in the bluffs and gonna be getting it in anyway ott with his sets

Can I ask about the 30% flop bet? Why do you go so small on this board?

Go for bet on the river, players don't reopen bluff much, if he gives up turn, then he gives up. So you want value on river, just bet, he have definitely hands what he calls

I dont think you should have small bet sizing on this flop QJ flops hit 3b calling range super hard so either check or bet bigger.
