Hello y'all, I'm new to the forum so a little background of myself is probably appropriate. I would consider my self a very competent recreational live stakes player. Generally 500nl is my game. Recently I have found myself playing a lot less, this is a result of me being very serious about my academics at Texas Tech University. I am a proud member of phi kappa phi and I'm super competitive about that. This competitiveness is probably why I love poker so much, I feel there is no better feeling than out witting a "more established" person in life.

That said, as you may all know, there is a serious lack of live games within the vicinity of my school in Texas. So I've moved into so very low micro stakes to keep me primed. In the past I've found online to be brutal, it really has a way of testing that next level discipline when it comes to BR management/Mathematical decision making. Additionally, it's hard grinding 2nl-4nl when you have a 5000bi+ bank roll at these levels.

For me this time is different, I want to know if I'm really a winning poker player like my live cash earnings might suggest. And not just a "good" player. To accomplish all this I will be utilizing a lesser known US poker site SB poker. I like SB poker because they have adequate tables available and so far seems fairly fishy, at least at these VERY low stakes. It also seems like the rake back (VIP points) is fairly decent. Id say .105bb/100.
-Note- If someone has actual numbers on the rake back please let me know

Method/Goals/Initial Results/First Impressions

Method will be four tabling for about 1500 hands each day. (I have a lot of free time) which is half the battle online.

here's my goal. I plan on making a trip to WSOP this year to splash in the lower stake cash games/tourneys. Before than I would like to ....

LOG- 30-40k hands

Achieve Win Rate- 5bb≥X/100 (Very low) My thinking is the average live 300nl 500nl simply cannot achieve this rate.

Ultimately , I would be ok with breaking even but that would suggest my null hypothesis of (just a good player) vs (winning player)

If this experiment is a complete failure, well may this post serve as a lesson to low stake "competent live players." You may not be as good as you think and may have to hit the books some more to enhance your game.

Initial Results

Hands Played - 893

Win Rate- 22bb/100

Impressions

Okay so obviously it's a very small sample size. This will continue to grow over time but my initial thoughts on SB Poker are..

MICRO Stakes are infested with people buying in short stacked. Which would suggest a pretty favorable EV long term for regs.

On regs
-Regs are fairly easy to spot, I.E constantly topping off or are on 4+ tables. -Regs at these levels haven't really thrown me off, as most of them play very ABC and exploitable NIT-TAG.

All in all I think my approach will be favorable long term and I really look forward to show you all the finished results.

Like I said any information on the rake back will be highly appreciated.
