Re: ***Official uNL Stats Checkup Thread***

Hi,

I've been playing 10 and 25NL since the beginning of February 2012 and had good success until the beginning of May where I descended into a downswing which cost me quite a lot of money which sort of never really stopped. I used to play quite aggro, 3betting close to 9%, couldn't give up pots and for a long time, that worked, seeing as my nonSD and SD were going up at a close to evenly rate, indicating that I was playing a close to perfect style of play for a duration of 60k hands. I was beating the game at a rate of 10bb+/100. I'm not a full time player, so I play approx 20k hands a month. At the end of June I decided to seriously work on my game and I read The Poker Blueprint, which taught me to think more and not act on instinct alone. In July I started to grind again and the above graphic is the result. My PokerTracker4 Leaktracker also doesn't come up with a specific leak, since all my stats fall within the average winning player range. A good friend of mine, with whom I talk strategy a lot, told me that although I ran quite a lot under EV, I should've probably earned more in EVdollars then I did. If some of you guys recognise this pattern and have some good insights on the matter, please don't hestitate to post them. Tnx

My stats for this sample:
VPIP: 20.90
PFR:17
3BTot: 7.30
Foldto3B: 73.76
TotalAF: 3.54
TotalAFq: 58.07

Re: ***Official uNL Stats Checkup Thread***

Here's my total graph for this year and like I said before, I'm not a full time pro and play around 20k hands a month. Also, I stated very clearly that my previous sample was from July alone, so instead of flaming for the sport of it, try to read before you blurt out non-sensical stuff. I'm really only trying to get a serious answer. Around the 55k mark I started to experience my downswing and although I received my fair share of coolers, I'm certain that a lot of my loses also came from the negative effects a downswing can have on your playing style.

So, after my graph hit the zero mark, I decided to play less aggro and be more alert to what I was doing and why. But like I said, it seems that I'm still doing stuff wrong. The stats I posted earlier are pretty much the same for my entire graph, apart from the fact that I cut down on 3betting too much, so I went from 9% to 7%.

Looks pretty good. However, you could play less hands from UTG (don't play stuff like small suited aces and small suited connectors or hands like KJo) and more hands from the button.

Looks solid, how about moving up? Also, 10-12 tables seems a bit off, you should play max 4 tables to improve your game (NL5 could be crushed with a lot larger winrate than 9bb/100), unless you actually manage to see all the action and take reads on all 10+ tables even in the hands you are not involved in...

You should be tighter from SB/BB by looking at the gap between VPIP and PFR

3-bet and 4-bet more. Not blindly, but look for both bluffing and thin valueraising opportunities, there's plenty of those around at the micros. If I were playing against you and you 3-bet me, I'd happily fold a hands like TT, AQ against you.

Looks pretty good except for one thing: Fold to 3-bet of 54% is pretty low. The average 3-bet at NL10-25 being something like 5-7%, you end up with the worst of it a bit too often imo.

Don't call 3-bets OOP at all. Don't call 3-bets in position with small pairs or suited aces and connectors, unless the 3-bet is a minraise or something. 4-bet bluff only when you think it's +EV, ie the opponent is a reg and he has a high fold to 4-bet stat.
