I believe that V's range is weighted towards high aces e.g. there is 1 combo of ATs against 6 of AK etc. Besides he could have lowend straights. Anyway after this line KQ w/o diamond is the best hand I could have, dont like x/folding it.
I get what you are saying for 0 EV but I think(pretty sure) its only for hands that lose every time on SDV so bluffs we give up but EV of c/f hadns that have lot of SDV is not 0 because obv you win a lot when V checks beck.
And about 50 % rule I know its true if you are IP but I m not sure if its true if you are OOP.
