I probably played this hand like **** from the start and would like to know how you guys plays hands like this? Maybe better to call pre and check raise with over cards and gutshots etc? Or 3b pre and check flop? Or just CF turn as played?

My thoughts on CO value hands are KJ, floated AK(that didnt 4b pre), once in a while slowplayed 22s&88s.
Hands that he could bluff with could be 98dd, 9T, QT, AdXx hands, 97dd.

Co fold to 3b 40%

BB: 101.23 BB (VPIP: 21.32, PFR: 12.37, 3Bet Preflop: 5.11, Hands: 392)
CO: 311.04 BB (VPIP: 27.59, PFR: 21.18, 3Bet Preflop: 11.18, Hands: 1,378)
BTN: 54.47 BB (VPIP: 41.38, PFR: 4.17, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 149)
Hero (SB): 165.47 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q J

CO raises to 3.5 BB, fold, Hero raises to 13 BB, fold, CO calls 9.5 BB

Flop: (27 BB, 2 players) 8 J 2
Hero bets 14 BB, CO calls 14 BB

Turn: (55 BB, 2 players) K
Hero checks, CO bets 30 BB, Hero calls 30 BB

River: (115 BB, 2 players) 3
Hero checks, CO bets 254.04 BB and is all-in, Hero?

Clear fold pre, would fold against 3x from CO as well unless BB is a huge fish (both calling or 3beting are just EV-, at least for 3beting we have enough better hands to do that)

I would consider c/c flop, but i guess 1/2 pot cant be bad

Turn gotta c/c vs this size

river just fold

Interesting. I guess I have a big leak playing QJ here or would you have played QJ suited any different?

My take on it is that he will raise a lot of hands on CO that we will have beat like low suited connectors, low pairs that will play fit or fold on flop etc. Am I missing something here?

I think preflop is a fold from these positions, QJs is a 3bet though. The difference in raw equity is only a few points but the situations in which you can bluff/make nutted hands isn't captured by just that small equity difference. Also as an overall strategy QJo is 3x more combinations than QJs, you generally want to control your frequencies and have good board coverage in your SB 3bet range so 3betting 87s, suited Broadways is generally a better strategy than including QJo. With that said it's not horrible as KQo is probably strong enough to 3bet every time.

Flop depends on your overall strategy but I would check call here and include QJ as one of my strongest c/c hands

As played river seems close, I know I'll have some Kx dd here to call. If you don't then it's probably a call
