NL5, AKo from BB

Villain is total unknown. Generaly I feel I don't play this hand profitably, and when I 3bet it I am usually commited with my TPTK, so I went for a bit for pot control here... Is it ok played?

c/f river as played, now AJ-AQ beats you and he doesn't have much to bluff with / worse to bet for value.

mistake here was not betting turn

how come you donk bet? just wondering
But as played i would bet turn and probably the river.

I think I would of elected to check/raise the flop and bet the turn, or check/call flop and raise the turn if he double barrels you.

do you think there is a lot more value in c/r flop compared to donking both flop and turn?

Just out of interest best way to extract whatever value we do have.

For me, most times im leading all 3 streets opponent dependant but sometimes check/raise flop. My question is 3b pre-flop and then check/raise the flop doesn't that narrow our range so much that we don't get any turn value?

    Bet turn. Shove river.

Also how can you say bet turn. and check/fold river? if we bet turn we have 60+BB invested?

+1 to betting the turn but a big no at shoving the river.

He called a 3bet...so give him a range heavily weighted towards A-X and pocket pairs. A smaller percentage of this range would be suited connectors and face cards players try to "hit" since we don't know if he's a fish or not.

Flop is perfect for us. I'd bet .75 personally. Villain calls. Still heavily weighted towards A-X, flush draw type hands, and pocket pairs 99+ along with 88/44 (small percentage as I'd expect villain to raise with a set on an ace high board).

Turn is meh, AJ and JJ got there but we still beat a big percentage of his range. I'd bet $1.20 on the turn to charge A-X and flush draws. He could have also paired up his jack to go along with a flush draw and villain will call again. I'd fold to any raise at this point however.

River is meh. I'd check and evaluate his bet size (if he even bets.) If he had a flush draw he won't call a shove. If he has a weak ace he probably isn't going to call and he most likely won't shove behind. We would just spew money to any two pair type hands.

I bet turn & c/f river... you doing it the other way round makes no sense IMO.

Fair enough, just seems rather meh to put in 60BB and then check/fold this river, but ok, wont disagree with the majority.

"This river" is a bad one for us.

What are you hoping for call's from when shoving?

It's all about ranges. AQ/AJ have to be a large part of that range and anything less is a thin VB in a 3BP.
