villains 28/8 over 80 hands i thought about checking turn, but he looks like pretty passive opponent, so didn't want to give him free cards for fds

Re: NL25 zoom JJ overpair facing Turn raise deep

cant he do this with worse hands?? hes not full stacked and we have the Js blocker to redraw when behind.

I think flop should be bigger like $5, hes not folding if he is gonna call. maybe even like $6.

I think this hand is closer then it looks, in a single raised pot, I could see more reason for closing, im tempted to call.

my line would of been to bet/call the river alot bigger like $13/call.

Dont hate the fold though as they are loose passive, but id prob go and call in this spot and expect to see hands like 8x with a spade, some werid combo draws that we beat and TT. Either way its close.

generally rule of thumb, when your 200bb+ is to just 3 streets bet/fold overpairs whilst at the micros. As people arn't really raisin with draws but will be raisin with sets to getvalue from FD's/to get the money in. (obv some villains youll be able to bet/call etc as they maybe a fair bit spewy)

Re: NL25 zoom JJ overpair facing Turn raise deep

I normally don't comment on preflop, but I think squeezing OOP to only 3,5x is bad, especially when deepstacked.

Flop is good, turn is a ****ty spot where I'm very tempted to look for a way to avoid having to bet/fold an overpair with a back-up draw on a very wet board. The problem is that check/call doesn't really accomplish much, since we're unsure what he's going to bet. We may end up giving free cards to draws, getting valuebet by better made hands, and getting bluffed on the river (so few blanks or good cards that can come...).

So yeah, bet/fold is probably best.
