So for those of you who have been here a while have likely noted, this forum doesn't get as much strat discussion as it did before Black Friday. It is not alone.

After a lot of discussion, it has been decided to merge several NLHE forums to hopefully make each one more viable and full of good strat discussion.

Here is the current plan:
Quote:
Live Low Stakes NL - (untouched)
Online Low Stakes Short-Handed NL - (uNL, SSNL, HUNL)
Online Low Stakes Full-Ring NL - (uNLFR, SSFR)
Mid-High Stakes Short-Handed - (MSNL, HSNL)
Mid-High Stakes Full-Ring NL - (MHFR)
So what does that mean for this forum? It will be merged with the current Small Stakes NL and Heads-Up NL forums, and it will be specifically for online HU through 6-max, with Full Ring discussion going in the Online Low Stakes Full-Ring NL Forum. All threads from the current forums with replies from 2016 or newer will be in the new forum, and all links should still work (they did when we did this with the Limit Forums).

So if you have any major concerns about this plan, please post them ITT. Barring major issues we haven't considered already, this change will happen in about a week. It should be pretty seamless.

Could you clarify what falls into the category ' strat ' discussion ? Poker strategy everything in general? Including HHs ?

Yes. Definitely including HHs, which we envision will continue to make up the bulk of strat threads. Also some more general discussion/theory threads, though they have to be specific enough to discuss in depth, or they'll likely get moved to Beginner's Questions, I would presume.

Thank you for the clear answer.

I can see how ' the merge' would help with general discussion/theory threads, but I do not see how it will increase HHs dicussions. People from micro will not be posting comments in the Small stakes, and if they did, their usefull input would be very very low, perhaps zero..Perhaps people from Small stakes are more likely to dicuss HHs from the micros, ' to help them out'. I think this will happen a little bit. I think in general though, the forums will be a lot more chaotic, actually scaring people off.

ANd lastly, i think, sorry if this sounds mean, it is completely ridiculous to merge 6max and HU forums, just doesnt make any sense. Completely different type of playing. No way I as a 6max player would ever be able to contribute anything usefull to HU play. And I also do not see why a HU player would start to comment on 6max hands..

I just started playing again and wanted to go post more here on 2p2, but this ' merge ' will actually make me less likely to join these forums again because it will be a lot of hassle to actually find the HHs from my limits(micros , zoom). There will be a lot of topics/HHs that I would just ignore.

You all deeply discussed it, so I guees you must have some solid(researched) arguments why this would hold up. Perhaps you did a survey among active users or smthg?

Anyway, I just wanted to give my opinion. Perhaps other feel differently. We'll see.

Frankly, the majority of HHs being discussed in SSNL these days either belong here (NL50) or in LLSNL (Live 1/2), so we think that part if the merger will just bring communities discussing much the same things together.

I agree your concerns about HUNL and will forward them. I think the idea was just that the HUNL forum is so close to dead that it might as well be merged in with the closest relative. That part of the plan may change.

Ah I didnt know most of the hands in SSNL were 50NL. In that case it makes more sense perhaps yeah.

Thanks for forwarding the concerns about HUNL. Its a pitty there forums are as good as dead, but yeah i do not think merging with 6max will help it live up..

Only issue I see is a bit of squabbling about people posting above their stakes (was part of why people started putting 50nl in the SSNL forum). Whenever I've read the small stakes stuff always seemed like the traffic was super low so I've never followed it much.

Worth a try.
