Betting 2 barrels for value on a wet board. On the river I decide to c/call since he may turn some hands into a bluff or possibly value-bet worse and in general I didn't wanna see a raise on the river. Obviously I'm not too happy about his pot bet but what can you do... Anyone betting river for value or playing the hand differently?

x/c OTR vs a calling station who is usually passive is not a good idea, betting ott against somebody else is not the best, id x/c in that case

I like river check/call. We're not getting called by worse often so letting him bluff missed draws or bet with worse makes more sense. I think you played this fine.

How do we know it is a usually passive calling station with only 3 hands on him?


AP I think x/c is fine. V's range is very polarized and he has lots of busted draws on this board. If fishy V could also be valuebetting himself with a worse Jx. I would expect most of his value hands (doubles, sets, straight) to raise OTT on a board this wet.

I don't think x/c is the worst line but I'd nearly always bet a hand this strong at 5nl just because the pool is so passive.

Hand looks fine as played, I think flop/turn sizing is a bit small though. I think river c/c is preferable to betting - it's highly unlikely villain has AA-QQ, every relevant draw missed (except T8s I guess?), and I expect villain to bet most Jx hands.
