MP is 21/14 with a fold to 3B of 50% over 1000 hands.
I only have 16 hands on CO - he has played 73/14 and this is the 2nd of 8 hands he has 3bet.

    [hand_history]$0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #37153543

    BB: $25 (100 bb)
    UTG: $23.36 (93.4 bb)
    MP: $42.05 (168.2 bb)
    CO: $11.44 (45.8 bb)
    BTN: $21.29 (85.2 bb)
    SB: $25 (100 bb) J J

    Preflop:
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.75, CO raises to $2, BTN folds, SB?

I am not worried about the CO in this hand. He is shortstacking <50bb and I will stack off every day of the week against him with JJ. My concern is with MP who is raising fairly tightly. Can we 4b here for value (given his low fold to 3b range, and therefore I presume low fold to 4b range?). Are we calling a shove here (which the presence of the shortstack MP makes more likely?

What reads do you have on MPs 4bet range? Is he just calling too many 3bets and 4betting the nuts only? If it's unlikely that he comes over the top with a wider value range I'd lean towards playing jacks 3way and just flatting. I don't like 4bet calling off against a tight passive villain in these spots. We are basically never bluffing when we 4bet given the CO stacksize so MP 5bet shove range will have us crushed

Flat pre. Fold to MP 4b.

Big difference between fold to 3bet and coldcalling a 4bet after raising imo.
Its kind of interesting I mean calling is ok, but MP can shove hands like AK and we end up call/folding? I mean do we ever just call here with AA/KK?
So I m leaning towards 4betting this to isolate the fish but I think its close.

Fold or 4bet/stack off. Calling is the nut low, there's so many boards you hate, and we're in a crap spot if MP 4bets.

4bet/stack off vs the shortie. If MP flats and shortie shoves reshove. If middle position shoves over your 4 bet fold. In other words, this should be a 4 bet for a bluff or for value depending on the action and players after you make it.

Do you not think 4bet folding is just burning money given that ace king is such a big part of mp shoving range?

I always fold in this spot. Since there isnt a clear answer (at least for me) I assume that everything is close here and I choose to fold to avoid variance.

Im not sure if it is any good anyways.

MP seems relatively nitty and I think he has flats with AKo so I don't think 4bet folding is a bad play.

4bet/folding isolates our fish - the 3bet by him is so small and MP is priced so well. As you all are saying - this hand does not play well multi-way. I think we just have to check-fold way too often if we call here.

The gap between CO's VPIP and PFR is a little intimidating when actually seeing aggression but we still look good against his range.

i dont think its close. i thinks its a small 4 bet. mp prob folding here and were folding to a 5 bet from mp. and reshoving a 5 bet from CO or calling a shove from CO
