C-bet Weak Hands OOP? C-bet Weak Hands OOP?

Hello world! Hopefully I'm doing this right..

This is not about about one particular hand, but about c-betting or not c-betting weak/mediocre hands with some showdown value OOP. Obviously dependent on opponent, but I'm talking about what play to make as a readless standard.

* Should I be more willing to bet these hands OOP? What hand(s) would you bet OOP, but check IP?
* If I'm checking... then what?
* If I'm betting... then what?

#1
SB: $10
BB: $10.00

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is CO with A 9
Hero raises to $0.30, BTN calls $0.30
Flop: ($0.75) J 8 6 (2 players)
Hero?

I'm sure some better players will chime in, but sitting at a 10nl table with zero stats on anyone:

1) x/f
2) b/f
3) b/f
4) x/c

check all.

use villain betsizing to choose which hands are a call

none are x/r

TT is usually a x/c
77 is sometimes a x/c
A9s and 33 are rarely a x/c

1) c/f
2) c/f
3) c/decide based on betsizing. probably folding
4) c/c

You should be a lot less likely to c-bet OOP and respect position. IP, I'd:

1-4) check and play turns. the only one that seems close is 77. TT can be a bet vs the BB and not the SB as well. SB and BB should have very different ranges.

+1

5 and 6 are interesting. I imagine you could bet small and try to check down unimproved but nothing wrong with throwing the towel in. This board hits his range pretty hard.

I'm been away from poker for 4-5 years..
I'm beginning to realize that the days of "raise pre -> c-bet every flop" are beginning to fade

I think hand 6 works well as a c/r

How U guys make money checking all of these hands, I'm c-betting 3,4 and 5 big. Check folding 1,2. Check , calling or check raising depends on V nr.6 and looking to steal on any club and big card.

I guess I'd ask you the opposite. How do you make money cbetting weak hands oop on a board ip often hits? You gotta be c/f turn a lot, no? Seems like burning money.

You picked a draw heavy texture that hits a BTN vs CO flatting range pretty well(and a CO opening range for that matter). However, you picked zero hands with which to bet for pure value or decent semi bluff potential, I guess intentionally. The only hand I continue with at all is TT, maybe AQ. The rest I'm not wasting a cbet.

Hands I bet here OOP are some club FD's, overs with BDFD, any combo draw, QTs, Q9s, T9s, 97s, 57s. Value betting sets, 2 pair, QQ+ and TPTK. I'd probably go the whole way with 5d7d or 5s7s if it bricks out since I don't have 45s.

H1-Is not trivial c/f.A9 can continue on many turn such as 7 9 5 T and A and you dont have much of problem folding this hand anyway,I m not saying its a bet but looks close to me.
H2-This one is pretty easy c/f.If it gets check beck 33 still can win at SD and they make really bad bluff so check is by far the best option.
H3-Probably check, but c/r with some 77 is not bad play they can turn open-ended str8 draw or set on many turn.
H4-I think I like betting TT to get value from 99 8X flush draws str8 draws and to fold out hands with lot of equity like AQ KQ,but c/c if you think he is going to raise you often.
H5-C/F
H6-either bet or c/r

I check all 6 of these hands and will probably call on 4/6 and maybe 3

Bet sizing matters. Those who have argued to check all hands probably cbet smaller and don't need to choose as many bluffs. Those who use a larger sizing need more bluffs. If we choose a bet sizing, we can find close to an optimal strategy on this flop using MDFs and our value range.
