Villian is 18/18 over 43 hands
Effective stacks are $30 on river
When he c/r the flop, I think it's pretty standard to get it in here. On the turn, I decided to check behind because I can still get the money in on the river due to spr. It may also be easier to get value out of JJ or QQ. On the the river when he checks, he can never really have much, so I decided to bet very small. This can make him spazz and call with a hand such as QQ or some random 2pr that he didn't get in on the flop or picked up because of the ace.

Very, very nice hand. I love the river bet.

I think you're losing value long term from checking back the turn. If you're going to bet the river pitifully small why not just bet the turn? I see no reason why he pays off $8 on the river more than $8 on the turn

okay, that may be, i planned on betting the river bigger if a brick came, that way all his sets and 2pair hands could call

The turn is such a terrible card for his hand that I think I would c/b the turn too. Obv the river is another terrible card and if you say you would vbet more if a brick came then I think its WP.

I'd be betting small on the turn instead of the river here. I think checking it is just passing up on too much value. I like your thought process on the whole though.

I wouldn't like that. It's incredibly difficult to squeeze more value out of this hand once the flush hits. You have the flush and he doesn't. Betting the turn seems criminal--you'd never bet there without a flush--and any river bet looks like a value bet. You'd check back pretty much *all* of your non-flush hands on this board. Does the 7 even really matter?

This is why I'm in love with the river bet. It seems like the only way you'll get paid.

Bet small on the turn and river. He won't be able to resist the temptation.

sets, straight, two pairs,QxQh, small flushes....basically a huge portion of his range.
the question is more what hands will fold to a small bet? JJ without a heart, QQ without a heart (and his play is not very consistent with this line)

Also more than half the dexk is and action killer or will give him a better hand
Just bet the turn smallsih and get the rest in on the river.

His range is superstrong on the turn, don't worry he won't fold that much...

you know, the thing about a scary board on the turn, is that it can only be scarier on the river..

i bet 8 on the river because the board is now 4 to a straight which therefore makes it harder for him to call with 2pr hands and sets

That is exactly why you need to bet the turn because there are so many cards on the river that will completely kill your action. If you want to make a small bet to suck him in do it on the turn.

If he's an idiot and didn't shove a set on the flop then he obv calls. He calls with 2pr cuz he got outs. He may call with a PP with a heart in it.

What would you do with 88 on this turn? (I assume you play it the same on the flop)

This is a moot point because nearly no one get to the turn with 88 this way.

shove turn, he wont fold hands that call your flop 3bet.

And you dont say: "PLEASE CALL, I HAVE A FRUSH BUT IM SO CONFUSED BECAUSE IT IS THE NUTS, AND WHAT IF HE FOLDS.''

Anyway, dont do it.
