4NL- j8s combo draw otf

villain is 28/24/3

he always opens super wide with the min raise like he did in this hand. some past hands from other sessions wher i have 3bet him. he has called with 1010 and stacked off to my QQ on a low flop. in another hand he flatted my 3bet from the BB otb with 74ss called two streets with a f draw and made a pear otr. overrall he folds to 3bet about 61%

in this hand i 3bet because i wanted to iso him IP and since he opens so small the 3bet is not that large in result so i still can have plenty of manueverabilty throughout all streets. when he calls i think he still has a pretty wide range consisting of PPs and suited connecters and broadways. i think he 4bets QQ+ maybe even JJ.

otf i when he raises me it reminds me of the way he played the 1010 hand so i think thats def in his range along with some other 1 pair hands as well as some sets. i dont think he would play a draw this aggressivly based on history.

my questions about this hand... is 3betting here too light? i feel stacking off otf is pretty standard but i had a pretty bad session so just looking for answers lol

Merge - $0.04 NL - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

SB: $8.98
BB: $3.19
UTG: $7.47
Hero (CO): $4.00

UTG raises to $0.08, Hero raises to $0.30, fold, fold, fold, UTG calls $0.22

Even if he is calling your 3b with a widish range he is still in decent shape against J8 imo.

yeah that is prob tru.. what type of hands would u 3bet vs this villain as well as what would u flat IP? i guess i just hate allowing him to open so wide utg and MP stealing my ability to attack the blinds from btn and CO with a min rz no less

Yes because you are tilted and hes not folding. Dont 3bet crap if you have no clue about postflop, you are not cool because you are 3betting J8s.

Now what the **** are you asking for?

You cant call because if you miss turn you gotta fold to his next bet, get in with 50%+ equity and deal with it.

Stop being a monkey.

Wait, no, keep being a monkey.

^^ but theres just no advice to give really.

You're reasoning for 3betting is weird, it kind of sounds like you think you're 3betting for value which is clearly untrue because you are way behind his continuing range especially when villain opens utg. That said 3betting as a bluff can be fine.

you're allready priced in with your drawy hand, because of the deadmoney in pot.
EHH + you may have 55% equity against his range, in case your j is good.

yeah we know, calling the raise with J8s is better, the 3bet is bad, because the hand has way more postflop equity, then again i'd rather 3bet j8s against a guy who folds alot, than j9s/jts, and stop being a douche

in fact 3betting is way better than calling , but hey if you dont know what to do here you rather fold.

edit: not being a douche, tough love if you wanna call it something, if i wanna be a douche i wouldnt be giving him advice at all.

i can see calling pf sometimes depending on who is left to act in the hand and how villain plays postflop. i'll definitely have a wider calling range vs. someone who minraises than someone who 3 or 3.5x, especially in position.
