Bet 14 BB. I'm not letting A spades get a free card and I'm going to value bet anyone with a K.

I think this is an option - maybe best way to play it. I hate when it goes x/b oft though and the turn is bad for me

that is what I did - problem is though that there are few K and Q that we beat given we block A and k and q is on board

How about playing a bloated pot on a bad turn oop? The point is lots of hands in his range have lots of equity VS Ur hand and u cant get 3 streets of value anyway

That's why I say it's probably the best way to play it looking at it now...

definitely bet this flop and reevaluate after. Yes, probably not gonna be 3 streets of value unless 2 blanks come and he just keeps calling.

Another reason not to bet is that I would hate to get raised here by some FD/SD...

I'm in the call down camp and play hand as premium bluff catcher on brick run outs.

Protection is not a reason to bet, thats just an odd way of saying there's a ton of bad turn cards for us. I.o.w. his flop-calling range has got lots of equity vs. our hand, hence we should pot-control. Which in turn is another way of saying playing against a range we still do very good against.

So you're saying pot control is better than value betting and charging villain for his draws? How do we play this differently with the A of spades?

I certainly like charging v for draws, but two things to consider here:
1) playing big pots oop
2) villain will most likely bet his draws or pair + draw type hands imo
