Preflop: Hero is BTN with 6 6
UTG raises to $0.06, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.06, SB raises to $0.26, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.20

    Flop: ($0.60) 9 3 A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.29, SB calls $0.29

    Turn: ($1.18) J (2 players)

Called the 3bet in position to defend my BTN against SB.

OTF I try to represent a AT-AJ, because unless I bluff him out or improve my showdown value is marginal. Hence why I tried to take the pot right here by making the type of value bet I would have made if I had Top Pair.

When he checks-calls the Flop, after 3betting, I immediately put him on first smooth calling a Top Pair, but with possible non-Ace hands TT-KK, KQ, KJ. That is why I basically gave up this hand and decided to check the two streets. But then... he checks his two streets as well.

In hindsight, though, would you have fired a second barrel on the Turn when SB checks again OTT?

The portion of V's range that you're bluffing never folds to one bet. Either take your sdv and hope to check down or bet twice imo

I wouldn't have called an UTG raise from a short stack with 66. SB is 3betting into this shortstacker an LP caller. I would be folding preflop here.

When SB is checking turn it's because you're representing strength. A lot of his range should x/c to showdown if you continue to bet or x/r if villain's really strong. Definitely a fold pre but if you don't fold then fold flop.

pre can go either way, prob call coz so much value in flopping set at 2nl, would just give up post flop, wouldn't be running no equity bluffs/no blockers

The thing is that when calling hands like 66 pre you have wide and weak range otf and cannot manage it.
Another issue is Ahigh flops are the worst for stabbing today many people know how to defend x range on such flops..
You just must check back almost all pps otf select only really few for stab, prefer some drawing hands or BD if there are. Just check often and realise the 4% additional chance.
Bluffing 2 streets with this hand is not bad itself only do it rarely.

How would one improve their ability to defend specific ranges on A high flops? Asking for a friend...lol

I'd imagine it's just checking some Ax and calling down 1 or two streets with some PPs.
