Why do you expect more by calling OTF than raising? I see that you can take value by a raising now from several worse hands

I am raising this flop donk bet all day long here. I see worse hands calling us here like FD, and pair plus gutshots. By calling, we risk the chance of being bluffed right off our hand by a worse hand. I think raising the donk bet has a bit higher EV.

I like your line.

I quite like the line - with just a FD I may preffer the raise on the flop, but with the top pair, we have enough SD value to just flat IP. Only problem w/ this line is when he triple barrels and your diamonds miss. AP I think you have to make the fold OTR - you massively block diamonds, which would be a huge part of his triple donk bluff range.
As others were saying, the flop raise certainly has some merit to it, even if it's just taking control of the pot IP as the pre-flop aggressor. I really feel you can go either way OTF.

wp. Easy fold OTR, got far better hands to call with.
Don't like raising the flop, we are often behind their calling range so turning our hand with a good amount of SDV into a semi-bluff, not great. Got better hands to raise with, where we should be more polarised than raising with A9d.

I like raising flop donks on these boards a fair bit since BB should have no good hands here aside from JT (though if he's bad he might not 3-bet some things he should). But I'd also tend not to do it with hands that aren't concerned with protection. You can't really make a mistake on the flop in a vacuum unless you fold.

River is a spot where you don't want to be blocking diamonds but lots of Ad hands check/call flop anyway. The donk bets are from such a wide range that I don't fold many decent Ax hands so whatever.

Unless villain is bad, the only hand they should have that beats us otf is JT. Any hand besides this that beats us should've 3bet preflop. Villain will likely have about a dozen diamond draws that could take this line though. Even if villain plays A6/A7 like this, I still think it's a call vs an unknown, and that's assuming villain never does this with air.

I don't think the flop matters much against some random.
