10NL: KK and I really want to fold turn

Is this stupid?

Initial Raiser is running 28/22/53% agg freq 4.25 agg factor over about 400 hands - his c-bet flop is 33%, bet turn is 50%, bet river is 20%

BB is a fish running 50/18 fold to flop bet 40%

NOTE: I called the initial raise because both BTN and SB were aggressively 3-betting (13% and 16% respectively) - was trying to setup a 3-bet squeeze.

Merge - $0.10 NL - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

SB: $4.59
BB: $9.18
UTG: $11.68
MP: $11.51
Hero (CO): $15.04
BTN: $12.72

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero has K K

fold, MP raises to $0.30, Hero calls $0.30, fold, fold, BB calls $0.20

Flop: ($0.95, 3 players) J 8 Q
BB checks, MP bets $0.71, Hero calls $0.71, BB calls $0.71

Turn: ($3.08, 3 players) 2
BB checks, MP bets $2.31, fold, fold

MP wins $2.93

explain why are you dojg this?

why arent you 3betting pre ?

if its because hes super aggro, then why are you folding on a superdrawy board where he can be semibluffing/valuebetting worse most of the time?

Easy call. You are ahead of almost his entire range here, I ran up poker stove giving him a range of 88+, AJs+, KJs+, QTs+, JTs+, AJo+, KJo, QTo+, JTo and you are came out with 68% equity.

He's just value towning himself here.

EDIT: just to add, i wouldn't consider 13% and 16% 3bet too crazy. You should have definitely 3bet this.

How many hands did you have on him at this point?

400 hands (in the OP). I didn't think that Jx would bet like this at the time, I really thought with this bet sizing it would be Qx at the worst and I can't see too many Qx hands I beat (i.e. really only AQ and KQ for which I have blockers).

His bet sizing just screamed a value hand that he was trying to protect. I could be completely off base here but that was my thought process.

Also, I don't really see too many people 3-betting greater than 12% over decent samples unless they are a bit spewy.

Edit: Even then if I give him a range of QQ, JJ, 88, Q10+, K10cc, A10cc I still have close to 50% equity so I have to call - Bad fold on my part here.

I think it's a downright easy call on the turn. The 2 most likely didn't help him for **** and you already know he bets 50% of the time on the turn. If you had the best hand before you probably still do, as the turn was a blank. I would reraise the turn, but that's me. I would at least call it down.

Welp, if he bets the river, you're ****ed, but I wouldn't be folding to this turn bet. The BB is a calling station so he probably hand less than the goods here.

3bet pre - you want them to put money in when you are ahead, you are ahead pre.

raise the flop, you are still ahead and he will call (or get in) with AQ, AK etc.

Played well I think. I mean pre is contentious but you gave defendable arguments for flatting. In general though I'd say 3bet more
