I like my decision to bluff the river as I have one of the best hands to do so with. My question is whether or not I can size this smaller. It would be difficult for me to show up with too many bluff combos and since I am more value heavy in this spot I think a smaller size will get the job done. What do you think? Critique on any other street is also welcome.

I think V is sometimes capable of barreling two streets with worse 8x here but not often, so I think that he has so many more combos of weak Qx and that I am not winning at showdown often enough to check back the river. He seemed decently competent and was playing at four of the tables I was at during this session. I forgot to mention earlier that he is a 31/6/1 with a 2.42 AF

31/6? You are trying to bluff a fish.

Yeah I think the biggest mistake here is trying to bluff a fish that has taken this line. Doesn't seem like he folds enough here for us to make a profit and he has such a wide range flatting in the BB that there are plenty of hands that we are certainly winning against like weaker 8x and occasional overcards with clubs or open enders that wiffed. Still behind plenty of the time when we check but I just can't find an argument for bluffing here.

You don't have to bluff every time you have the nut flush blocker...

+1

This is hardly one of your best hands to bluff with, river is a snap check.

He's trying to rep the nut flush to a fish that likely will call with pretty much anything anyway.
