Villain is 40/13/2,6 after 100 hands in a weak 10-handed game. I know him as a loose, aggressive, tricky 6-max player. He tends to call my isoraises light so far.

In the hand I called the river somewhat automatically and immediately felt angry about it.

UTG+1 ($2.300) open limps, 3 fold, Hero ($3.500) raises to $50 with A Q,
2 fold, SB ($1.000) calls, BB folds, UTG+1 calls

Flop A, 9, K ($160)

SB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $110, SB calls, UTG+1 folds

Turn 4 ($380)

SB checks, Hero checks

River 2 ($380)

SB bets $170, Hero raises to $400 (calling a shove)...

I'd usually go bet, bet, bet; but this is fine too (fold to river shove please - you need a really really good player to call a shove here).

Why didnt you bet the turn? Pot control? Then why do you want to raise-call river? Just because of his betsize?

Why fold to a shove? Can villain still be trapping after his check on the river?

I thought he raises the flop or leads the turn in case he has hero beat. Also heros raise on the river may look suspicious to him.

bet/3bet bluff on the river is something that rarely anyone would do (so you really HAVE TO know that a player is capable of that to even consider calling), especially with a hand that has showdown value.

Hm, ok. Indeed I dont remember any villain having ever b/3bet bluffed the river It's just that usually before folding I like to find a hand that matches villain's line.

What hand that you beat is gonna bet/3bet this board?

I'm confused by the turn check, river reraise line you took. In particular, what hand are you trying to represent to villain with this line?

ya, he's gonna randomly shove AJ/AT so your call should be good here... Nope that didn't sound believable when I typed it.

Going to get better value out of betting the turn. I don't really like the FPS line here vs a tard.

Im with the bet/bet/bet line. I think you are losing way too much value by not betting this turn against a loose player that is calling you a lot.

agree that bet/bet/bet is bet/bet/better
