[25NL/6max] How big of a mistake in never folding AK preflop in AI situations ? [25NL/6max] How big of a mistake in never folding AK preflop in AI situations ?

Hi Guys,

I've been wondering about this recently. I know some people never fold KK all-in preflop at the micro-stakes, same with AA obv. But what about AK. I'm not asking this because I am results oriented in this hand as I stacked the guy who had 99. When I have AK in these stakes I usually 4-bet /5-bet shove mindlessly thinking if he's got me he's got me. I *often* get called by worst; dominated hands, broadways etc.. Sometimes I run into AA, KK and sometimes I suck out on KK. Should I really be worrying about folding AK preflop at 25NL ? What about 50NL as I'll be there soon ?

I know it depends on the guys range and stats, but when I have no reads I don't mind gambling it up and jamming it in prelop. Maybe this is a leak and I should go relieve myself in tourneys more, lol. If the guy is a "rock" rock I usually call a 3-bet and take a flop.

In extreme situations I *do* fold AK preflop though. For example tight UTG opener opens and get reraised by an other TAG in early position or some other borderline situation like that. But heads up, I'm being real aggro preflop independant of the player's stats, unless he is an absolute rock where I might call and take a flop.

What do you guys think ? Thanks.

You obv are results orientated:

33,176,217 games 27.797 secs 1,193,517 games/sec

Board:
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 55.253% 55.17% 00.20% 18303841 65063.00 { 99 }
Hand 1: 44.747% 44.64% 00.20% 14811096 65063.00 { AKo }

Got your money in behind. Not miles behind, but you shouldnt be doing this "independant" of stats. Certainly not when you arent the one pushing all in, as you cant get them to lay it down. I dont call here against an unknown.

Pokerstove it, but it is also villain dependent

Against a typical 3 bet range:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 42.819% 28.08% 14.74% 14424809 7571040.00 { AcKd }
Hand 1: 57.181% 42.44% 14.74% 21802231 7571040.00 { JJ+, AQs+, AKo }

Against the shoving range

Hand 0: 38.824% 18.14% 20.68% 6524615 7436014.00 { AcKd }
Hand 1: 61.176% 40.50% 20.68% 14561741 7436014.00 { QQ+, AKs, AKo }

Also depends how likely you weigh each possibility, I think AK composes more of the range so id weight that a little more and then more weight to QQ than AA or KK
