6 max table, What to do? 6 max table, What to do?

Hey guys. I often get in situations where I am unsure of what to do on the flop.
For example. If I have 99 UTG and I make it 3x, and the player after me calls and the rest of the table folds. If the flop comes 3 5 A. Rainbow. Do I continuation bet assuming I have no stats on the player after me? And when facing a reraise do I just automatically fold? And, if I were to check and face a raise, I'm assuming it's correct to call. But then if the turn comes an irrelevant card, like an 8, do I continue to check and show weakness, or can I bet out to put him to the test a little bit?
I really feel like spots like this is where I lose a lot of my money. And I appreciate your input.

It's basically a specific hand. With a variation as a what if. UTG 99 raise 3x BB next player calls. rest fold. Flop A 3 5 I check he bets I fold. Should I call there? Should I always cbet that flop? What if I bet and get reraised? Do I float . . . It's a hand. with variables.
