March Madness Team Pool? March Madness Team Pool?

03-03-2012 , 08:22 PM
Trying to make march madness a bit more interesting this year for me, so I was wondering if you guys would be interested in a March Madness team pool. I'd like to gauge interest first before getting into too many details but i envisioned something along the lines of limiting the pool to 16 entrants.

*each entrant gets 4 teams (one 1-4 seed, one 5-8, etc...)
*everything will be randomized
*Each game won will be worth "some" amount of money

guaging interest in:

*Buy in
*How the money transfer process will work

Better idea:

March Madness squares

we sell 100 squares at 10, 20, whatever a pop

those are randomized same way as super bowl squares

the finals has a payout for the first half and final score that is the largest of all payouts, then the 2nd smallest is for the final scores of the semifinals, then final scores of the final four games, and so on down the line until you are at the first round games which are worth the least. i'm not sure what those percentages should be, but maybe like 20% of the pool is for finals final score, 10% for finals halftime score, 5% for each of the semifinals final scores, and 2.5% each for all of the final four final scores, and so on down the line

i think having the squares worth more is fine because there's so many games that everyone should get some sort of payment back and have plenty of sweat towards the end of all the games.

Im cool with the squares. It will be nice for individuals to techincally have a rooting interest in all games(rooting for scores). I would be more than willing to set everything up as far as breaking down the value of each round.

I can escrow or bring in someone with more posts, even though i am very active in the 2 p 2 community.

I also think most of SL is broke so $10 square is quite reasonable

Why the hell isn't anybody just doing a normal march madness bracket?
Giving out points that increase per round(round 1 = 1 point/correct answer, and higher rounds increase so round 2 = 2points/correct answer) type thing??
Id be down for that.
