Picked those up for $31 (60% off) yesterday at the gap. Their sale is pretty insane right now in stores.

i think it's ugly. what's your price range?

it's also probably a terribly made watch (even for a $50 watch) since KC doesn't make watches and probably outsources it to some ****hole and stamps their name on it at the end.

Kenneth Cole? Why is Kenneth Cole selling watches for so cheap? That can't be good for the brand.

I feel like unless you're really going to spend decent money for a watch you're better off not buying one, agreed? I don't even own a decent one yet

I'm browsing Gilt.com, there's an under $100 watch sale. There's a bunch discounted from 400-600 that are selling for 98$.

Is there some kind of rule where I can look at a color palette and know what fits well with what?

This is probably correct.
A watch is more than just looks, and since they last almost literally forever, spending a more significant sum on them is the correct play.

Why do they sell watches in the first place and definitely agree with you, this is terrible from a marketing point of view.

Blue, khaki, grey, olive, etc. there's a big DB thread on styleforum, search for it.

Speaking of watches, I'm looking to invest in a nice watch to wear to parties/social events. I've never actually purchased a watch for myself but got a few cheap watches for birthdays/holidays and a Rolex submariner for my high school graduation. The rolex makes me look like a douche and I'm not going to be the dude at the party with a gold rolex. Looking for something casual but still fashionable. what are the go-to brands i should be looking at
11-27-2011 , 08:20 AM
There is an entire topic on non-Rolex watches I believe in EDF.

Without a price range it is hard to answer.

Not Really. Everyone needs a watch. I have a simple black citizen watch that didn't cost too much and I'm fine with that for now.

A submariner doesn't make you look like a douche -- it just looks like it was a gift. also, if you're looking to get a watch that's "fashionable" you're doing it wrong. what's your budget?

Like I said, I see this as an investment. I'd be willing to spend up to ~$350 if it's worth it.

Maybe the word "fashionable" was wrong. I'm looking for a semi-formal brand-name watch that I can wear to social events/clubbing. I'd prefer something darker in colour (black/brown) since that would fit my style a little more. I'm in my junior year so wearing a Rolex is a no-go imo
