I have a couple of the more expensive shirts but I'm probably just going to buy stuff from Uniqlo this fall/winter. The only shirt that has ever blown me away with the fit/quality is one I got from Zegna but I can't afford to be buying many of those.
Uniqlo is pretty awesome. Even though you literally cannot move in the store and the line is 30 minutes long even though there's like 20 cashiers.

that shirt is certainly dreadful.

Ordering from Uniqlo if you don't live in NYC is a bitch since you have to call or use a proxy. Guess it makes them a little exclusive which is cool but damn...

Uniqlo website says 2 new NYC stores in fall 2011 and one is in Herald Square which is like 2 blocks from Penn Station. Place is going to literally print money, the one in SoHo is so packed I never go even though the few pieces I own from them are awesome.

uniqlo is outstanding value. i've only bought one item from there (a blazer) but it held up well and looked great.

i try not to bash what people wear bc everyone is different and different styles work for different people (within reason). i know that my style is somewhat unpopular on here and that's ok because it works for me and i don't expect it to work for everyone.

but based on what i've seen from gcg i honestly can't imagine the kind of girls he's getting with. i don't doubt that he's getting laid, but i have a feeling the types of girls he's getting with are so different from what everyone else ITT is shooting for that any advice he gives is just completely worthless to everyone else. i still can't get over the time he said that the girls he hangs out with would be weirded out if a guy asked her on a dinner date.

Shut up. You have yet to contribute really anything substantial to this thread. I told you your sneakers you posted are geared more towards black people because:

1. They are.
2. Custer and I both stated we couldn't wear them.
3. White people wear converse hi-tops instead.

And regarding skin tone and colors, that is also not a radical, made-up concept. Henry clearly expressed the importance of choosing correct colors for your skin tone and others such as GCG and Custer have also pointed out that they couldn't wear certain colors. Picture a black man trying to wear an orange shirt. It'd be pretty damn difficult to find a shade that actually works well.

As disko has pointed out, people have different styles. Just because I can't wear something you can wear doesn't make me wrong or out of style.

Thanks for the advice guys. Just trying to get a decent style going for the times I will be going out in the future(hopefully a decent amount). Not to brag but once I find a style that fits me I feel like I will look better than 95% of kids my age because of my body structure and size

not a brag at all

I'm looking to get some short-sleeve shirts/polos for summer/fall that fit me well and won't fall apart in a year's time. I find that most major retailers' stuff is just too big in the waist and the collars don't stay nice for very long. Any recommendations? Do I have to look online? On a limited budget too, but I won't discount the more expensive stuff if that's the only way to get a good fit and quality material.

Also weird question but with some of my better fitting shirts my nipples kinda poke out - does this mean the material is low quality? Do I need an undershirt? It's not all bad bc I've had girls grab me in the nips but I still feel like it's a tacky look.

There are three main considerations -- 1)if you have a warm or cool tone complication, 2) the contrast between your skin and hair colour, and 3) eye colour.

Also is it acceptable to wear shorts (like what LT posted on the previous page) out to a college bar/club where most guys are dressed vary casually (wearing jeans and a t-shirt/polo)? Probably would go with a polo as well. I never have and I feel like the answer is no unless it's daytime and you're outdoors but maybe I'm wrong.

Maybe the new All Star Cup highs but you can't tuck with Chuck Taylor highs.

Something like a slubby, peach colored tee shirt with khaki shorts and white or navy sneakers/espadrilles/boat shoes would work I'd think.

American Apparel is probably your best bet unless you're willing to spend $60+ per tee. Target also sells some nice ones and so does J-Crew and Uniqlo. Make sure you try on every single shirt you intend to buy because there can be a lot of variance in sizing from shirt to shirt even if they share the same tag.

My nipples sometimes stick out when I've got THO. It's probably not related to the quality of the shirt unless the fabric is weaved really loosely and the material is thin.

AA for tees specifically? Or collared shirts as well?

I have a pair of lightly colored biege jeans that fit me really well but I'm still not sold on them and not sure what to wear with them. Thoughts?

I'd never wear Converse; that was for making a point.

Yeah, peach would work, but it isn't orange. Was just a good color to use as an example because wearing orange with a dark skin tone is way harder to pull off than a light skin tone (gingers, ldo.)
