messenger bags can also result in back and shoulder problems down the road if you carry a heavy load due to the distribution of the weight.

For the people that wanna wear messenger bags...have fun being an old washed up hipster with back problems. Backpacks all day.

Re: Style Thread

well here in the netherlands most people have a nice messenger bag instead of a backpack. The school before university is/was most of the time backpack, but after that most have messenger bags. I prefer messenger bags, they look cooler as backpacks.

Well what do people think of aviator sunglasses from ray bann. bought these a few days ago:

Pretty standard, I like them.

I like the Wayfarer more, but they dont fit my face (neither do the Aviator).

Re: Style Thread

i saw rock and republic jeans today at a department store on sale for i think $85. they used to be some of the nicest jeans, up there with 7 for all mankind, paper denim, diesel. does this mean rock and republic are **** now?

i am looking to buy a pair of shoes that are extremely versatile. something i can walk in and sometimes exercise in, but also something that can go with jeans or shorts. they don't have to be dressy, but ideally not just like running shoes. hopefully something that i could wear with this below and wouldn't look out of place:

functionality is first and foremost - has to be something i can wear day to day and still be comfortable. but it'd be nice if they are also stylish and can go with a variety of outfits.

Re: Style Thread

You should be buying exercise shoes and shoes to wear with outfits separately

Re: Style Thread

Rock and Republic never sold denim that was on par with other jeans in their price range. Diesel is miles above R&R in spite of their Euro-trasy cuts and washes. R&R went bankrupt a couple of years ago and now produces a jean exclusively for Kohl's that's priced under $100.

Re: Style Thread

What do you guys think of the new Everlane backpack (will be released next week)?

They come in blue, green and gray (above) and a different style that I don't really like. They are waterproof which is pretty cool. Price hasn't been released yet, though I'm guessing in the $50 range. I really have no use for a backpack (graduated so no school use for it) but I'm tempted to buy one just because I like it a lot .

Everything I've used from Everlane has been pretty great. I have no use for something that big but if for some reason I had to carry tons of crap around all day that wouldn't fit in a regular bag that seems like a good option.

i'd go with diesel or apc over RR any day of the week. i know most people swear by APC and raw denim generally but i think diesel jeans are awesome.

+1 to whoever said the model is dressed like ****.

+1 to whoever said exercise shoes shouldnt be versatile.

for going out, just get a nice pair of wingtips or boots. ex:

last few months ive been mostly rocking these crockett & jones kicks:

they are roughout suede and dainite sole so you can beat the **** out of them in a bar or whatever.

Re: Style Thread

Anyone recommend a place to get a decent suit in Chicago for <$1k? Need a new one for school and I'm cash poor + don't know where would be the best place to go.
