looks like good mosque attire
06-14-2013 , 03:20 PM
Don't bother man. They just don't get it.
06-14-2013 , 03:37 PM
lol jabonator please tell me where/what setting outfits 1-3 are even remotely appropriate attire and wont have you looking like you got dressed by a blind man.

edit - even the people wearing them are taking the pictures at home by themselves! theyre too embarrassed to wear it in public.

edit 2 - wait nvm dont you live in like holland. might not be as much of a faux pas there. but that doesnt make the outfits look any less bad.

.... is that a joke? all of those are absolutely awful dude.

MAYBE id wear the last one if i was like, on vacation at a beach resort and going to a super casual lunch. but just, cmon.
same thing to you - please tell me where/what setting outfits 1-3 are even remotely appropriate attire and wont have you looking like you got dressed by a blind man.

lets just say i wouldnt have been surprised since you are clearly closed-minded.

mall/beach whatever, daytime pretty much anymore besides professional setting. i think the black dude lives in NYC and wears that kind of stuff everyday. maybe someday you'll learn to appreciate different concepts of style.

but for now go on and look like every other bro with their polo/ocbd + chinos + sperrys/clarks all in different shades of vomit.
after all clearly that is the pinnacle of fashion.

so because i can identify when certain outfits look awful, im unable to appreciate different concepts of style? interesting logic. and by interesting i mean awful.

im not sure anyone i know would describe my sense of style as "bro" or "fratty" or whatever image you seem to be conjuring up in that little head of yours.

i wont do all of the work for you but here is a good place to start: http://www.aoa.org/x5428.xml
you can thank me later.

lol, we just had this discussion where standing out or being different doesn't mean you are dressing well. Those are all pretty terrible outfits.

First off, sandals and socks are never, ever acceptable. The first outfit might be the worst. Sandals with socks (guess they aren't technically socks, but that's the look that sandal gives off), shorts that are too long, just all around terrible.

Second outfit could be good if he wore some pants that weren't hideous, and the sandals are terrible. Looks like they might even be brown. Wearing brown with black is a massive faux pas. Get some real pants and shoes, and there is potential.

Third outfit looks like some sort of hybrid dashiki. I'm not even going to comment on that.

Fourth outfit is ok. Get a shirt that doesn't see-through, roll up the sleeves, hem those pants (actually, I'd probably just get pants with a shorter in seam), and throw on some boat shoes and you have a solid summer outfit. Sandals are fine at the beach.

lol wtf is going on itt
06-14-2013 , 11:06 PM
There is no way ChopSueyy and Jabonator are serious defending those outfits and sandals. If someone was seriously wearing those out in the city I'd laugh in their face. Sandals can be fine with jeans or something but those things are ridiculous.
06-15-2013 , 03:53 AM
You seriously think sandals are more appropriate with jeans than flowing wool pants? Cool.

I've never worn a pair of sandals in my life no exaggeration

I did, when I was < 6 years old, but quickly realized that they are the nut low of shoe wear.

Looking to buy my first decent pair of dress shoes tomorrow (a shame, i know). Would appreciate any pointers of examples of what (not) to buy. Willing to spend $500.

Thanks!
06-21-2013 , 10:00 AM
Color/style preference? Are you wearing them in a law office? Out on dates? Both?
06-21-2013 , 11:11 AM
Up to $500 is a big range. You can easily get a brown and black pair for that. As scrolls asked, what is the plan for where you're going to wear them? There are a lot of different styles.

06-21-2013 , 02:57 PM
dont ever wear a white crew neck under your shirt.
06-21-2013 , 03:14 PM
yea i made sure to buy a white shirt that was thick enough and not see through so i didnt have to wear undershirts
