Epaulet makes the best pants, hands down, btw. But I want to try out different stuff so I bought the J.Crew Ludlow Fielding slim fit suit pants during the last sale for $219 shipped and am really hoping I'll like 'em.

If not then I'll probably try RL Black Label, Zegna, Attolini, or Incotex or something.

What's the deal with these discount designer label sites like bluefly, yoox, shopthefinest, gilt, ruelala, belleandclive, and about a dozen others I am forgetting.

Should there be any concerns regarding the authenticity of their stuff? Should I be worried when buying what is supposed to be a fully or even partially canvassed suit, that instead I'm buying a fused piece of ****?

Because some of these sites actually have some ok stuff and I have zero qualms about buying from them provided they as sold as advertised.

gilt is def legit, only one of those i use. I imagine you can just search the site + styleforum in google and see what they say on it.

yoox is definitely legit, check SF for the rest.

Epaulet pants are supposedly made by the same manufacturer as Howard Yount's Made in USA pants, so you can check them out as well.

I've been using yoox for years. They used to have really good prices on everything, like 50% off almost everything. I ordered some more stuff earlier this week but it was all full price. They charged me sales tax too, which I don't remember from before. Then they sent me a confirmation email saying they would ship my stuff from their warehouse in Italy, I was about to give up on them entirely at that point. But my order shipped 2 days later from NJ so now I'm back to just being disappointed by their prices. Good quality stuff though, and easy return policy.

yoox is confirmed awesome. got quite a few guy rover shirts from there and some lardini/boglioli blazers as well

Yoox is definitely awesome but their inventory is almost too large sometimes. I'll put a couple filters in for what I'm looking for and then there's 500 items returned and I simply give up after scrolling down the first page.

I like suggestions for what to wear for a horse race event. Our company is taking us to Gold Cup in a week. Thanks.

Everyone dresses up for horse races. At the least wear chinos, tucked in dress shirt and nice shoes. Throw a sport coat over that or wear a suit if you desire.

It depends on what "horse race event" means. If they're just going to the track, then it's just standard dress. If it's the Kentucky Derby, then yeah dress up.

Gross or drool?

If you had to get one blazer to wear with chinos and maybe jeans, with a button down and maybe a tie, what color/style?

gross

navy.

Thanks. I assume there's a better quality option than BR in the 200-300 range?

Cool thanks. From what little I know about horse races, I think Gold Cup is fairly well regarded, and a pretty social event. It's the 88th year or something like that.

What is good for shoes? Do black dress shoes go ok with chinos, or is brown or boat shoes better? Thanks.

suede penny loafers are what true bosses wear to the derby

i do what i want.

doesnt 2p2 automatically resize things though or is that just in my chrome? every picture looks the same size on here to me regardless of what it originally was.
04-27-2013 , 04:07 PM
Yeah, didnt know what the comment was referring to, my pictures are resized automatically.

You can change it in your settings, if it isnt the case for you at the moment.

If you're out on the town, wearing a blazer/jacket/sportcoat and chinos with a dress shirt, is it generally better to go tie or no tie? Assuming a not super formal thing.
04-28-2013 , 03:21 AM
no tie
04-28-2013 , 03:22 AM
No tie.

Just want to say that Certain Dri is a life-changing product. I have always been a sweaty guy, but in the past 9 months or so, it got to embarrassing levels. I could be in a t-shirt in an air conditioned room and my shirt would be soaked. First day after using Certain Dri and had ZERO wetness. Wish I would have used this product earlier.

Thank you to whoever recommended the product earlier.
