Who makes your go to khaki or chino pant? I need to add something to my wardrobe that says '"style concious relaxed professional" but don't know where to look.

Budget?

Epaulet is great but definitely over $80. Below that I'd recommend Bonobos and J. Crew. Both of those have frequent sales by the way.

It's certainly not optimal but a lot of kids do.

I wouldn't recommend it though, lots of value on dressing nice. Even if it's good fitting jeans and a long sleeve shirt or Henley

FYI: epaulet is having an additional 25% off their sale section the next few days. I've mentioned them ITT several times--not cheap but all their stuff is great. Thought this might be a good opportunity for people to try them out on the cheap. Sale items are all final (no returns) but their sizing charts are very accurate so you should be alright. Code is July-Fourth-25-Off.

I'm standing in a wedding and the groom has requested us all to wear light brown dress shoes (we have grey suits). I own zero pairs of dress shoes so this seems like a good time to get some nice ones. I might have posted this before but now I'm really ready...wedding is in 2 weeks.

Go with the walnut/bourbon 5th avenues from AE?

or the park avenues?

he threw these out as a suggestion in the email.

I work from home so these would be exclusively used for weddings...

thanks

If you are really only going to wear them infrequently, something cheaper might be fine, but I have the AE 5th Ave in Walnut, and they are great. They sell a walnut polish as well, which will last forever with how little you'll wear them.

Agree with this. The AE's are a significantly better shoe. I picked up Walnut Strand seconds and the polish for $210 total during the AE tent sale a few weeks back, and combined that with a $50 off $200 Amex deal for a total spend of $160. I think the tent sale is over so you'll spend slightly more on 5th aves but IMO it's worth it unless you're really strapped for cash or will literally never wear them otherwise.

Might pick up some AE's for fall to wear with jeans, they look fresh as ****

Also last week went to J Crew outletz and picked up a couple v necks for 8.60 on sale

any examples of something you'd recommend that is cheaper? I really like the AE's (5th Aves and the Park Aves). I'm probably going to end up firing on the Allen Edmunds but $400+ w/ tax is not ideal.

You can get meermin a lot cheaper(175 for shoes, 35 to ship, like 6% customs fee) due to the strong dollar, or go to an ae factory outlet and cop some seconds.

Other brands worth checking out that are cheaper are florsheim and cole haan like you linked earlier

Thoughts on casual loafers from like Aldo's or Tods?

The socks in order:
Blue with rainbow colors- Happy socks
Purple- Uniqlo
White/blue houndstooth' Charles Tyrwhitt.

The brown watch is a Rodina. Don't remember model name. If you search thread for Rodina you will find a link when I bought it. It's a cheap automatic made in China on a cheap strap but it has a nice clean/simple look with blue dials.

The black one is a Hamilton Titanium Khaki field watch. Can't link because I'm on phone at work. Simple Google search can find it though. Got it for like 630 during a valentine's day sale on jomashop

That Rodina's appeal to price ratio is fantastic. Total rip off from Nomos though, even the font is similar.

LT,

Not real familiar with those brands but loafers are great.

You may need an iron my friend. Are you wearing cargo shorts?
09-03-2015 , 06:02 PM
Not a fan of shirt, although I fell into wearing shirts like that like 2 years ago(and defended them as fashionable). Just think the pattern isnt that good.

Fit is good though.
