Haha why is that video titled "Charles Barkley talks on Weight Watchers?" What follows is 10x more entertaining

"Man I can't stand to watch this Atlanta Hawks team play"
"This game is terrible"
"It is"
"Look at this game, 31%, god almighty"

loooool

I can't imagine this being anything but an ugly and terrible game.

bartscottcan'twait.gif for LKJ's defense of Ron Winter and the refs for this game.

Oh you must be confused. Intellectually honest posters don't take positions and then dig in their heels and say "I'll die on this hill and defend what I like or attack what I don't like no matter what." The only people who do that are idiots who should probably stop posting and perhaps breathing.

Last edited by LKJ; 01-08-2012 at 08:57 PM. Reason: That said, I've only watched this game sporadically so I don't really have an opinion on the officiating.

You said he was one of the best refs in the game. Now you must be changing your position.

really lucky that decker got taken out of the game early before he could aids it up some more

would have been so much better with orton LDO

I must be changing that position based on one game? One game that, as I said, I only sporadically watched? I should just take your word for it? Would that be reasonable or intelligent of me? I can only judge officials based on what I've seen. I don't even know what calls you're talking about here.

However, for what it's worth, Ed Hochuli's place as one of the finest referees in the game was not taken away by his botching of the Chargers-Broncos game a few years back, and that was a blatant miss that cost the deserving team the game. Since nobody else but you is mentioning the officiating thus far, I'm guessing this is nothing that egregious.

In any case, no I would not see one bad game by an official and think that he wasn't one of the best. If I did that, I would eventually have to disqualify all of them. I will say three things with confidence from my time as an official:
1. I was one of the best among my peers at the time. I was consistently evaluated highly, assigned to championship games, and was promoted to supervisor to evaluate and train other officials on my off nights from officiating.
2. I certainly ****ed up at times, and I knew it. It happens.
3. #2 doesn't change the first sentence of #1.

I love the fact that Tebow won but if this thread is going to turn into Tebow-AIDS again after silence when Tebow probably put up the worst 2-game sequence in NFL history by a QB to end the regular season....my position might change.

I'm certainly no Broncos fan, in fact I really don't like them basically due to carry-over from them being a past division rival, but an embarrassing loss for Pittsburgh is always welcome.

Next week's games look kind of ****ty aside from Saints-49ers, which could be great. Saints-Packers and Patriots-Ravens as a final four would be really, really solid.

Texans Ravens tho. Gonna be game of the week. Two of the best defenses going up against some average QBs. But, I forgot, momentarily, that no one likes defense anymore, so WOAT game next week for sure.

Well, Texans-Ravens looks like second best to me, but I don't think it's too promising. Houston is basically just the lesser version of Baltimore. I'll be rooting for the upset though.

Saints-49ers looks awesome because that's a really legit D against an excellent offense.

People are really sleeping on the Texans IMO. They may have an average QB, but the got the running game and the defense to carry them. They are similar to the 2000 Ravens who won it all.
01-08-2012 , 10:01 PM
Let me guess, you bet on them to win it all?

Texans are good. I respect them. I just don't see a ton of advantages over Baltimore or a significant hole that they can ably exploit in order to win that game. Really damn tough to win in Baltimore.

I think it's gonna be a Ravens-Packers Super Bowl, but the only team that I totally count out from winning it all from this current field is Denver.

lol falcons

lol steelers

Meh I wish the Falcons had won. I detest Eli Manning. Whichever team that won was just going to go bend over at Lambeau next week though, so whatever I guess.
01-09-2012 , 12:28 AM
ive got nothing against eli and the giants probably have the best posting fanbase on 2p2. meanwhile i have a lot of friends back in atlanta who think the falcons are a lot better than they are. their ceiling with ryan is the first round and julio doesnt raise it.
01-09-2012 , 12:38 AM
Eli is a little bitch with entitlement issues who gets credit for being a Super Bowl-winning QB because his receiver made an absolutely ridiculous catch on a bad ball.

It's pretty typical Eli when he gets a play like this in a game...and then later, when the game gets sealed off against him on a tipped pick six in a game he was already trailing in, he gives a press conference saying "well, it's just tough to lose on a tipped ball rather than getting outplayed"...someone should have stood up and murdered him very publicly right at that moment when he made that bitchy little comment. **** that guy.

I don't know anything about the various posting fanbases on 2p2, but I take the statement as being symptomatic of your fascination and strange lack of disrespect for SE, so that part is disregarded.
01-09-2012 , 12:45 AM
LKJ,

Eli is a very likable guy. Wanting him to be murdered because he was upset after a loss is a bit strange IMO.

He also played well in the playoffs that year (SB win) and didn't solely win because of Tyree's catch, which was only possible due to Manning escaping what looked to be a sure sack.
01-09-2012 , 12:48 AM
yeah among unlikable people in the nfl eli is pretty far down my list
