Stands to reason that there was a lot less of it because it isn't better.

False, implied causation.

You identified the correct logical fallacy, but regardless of that, hockey (while great) just can't stand up to football. Like...not even a little bit.

I wish I was excited for college football starting tomorrow but it's just not there. wat do?
09-02-2011 , 02:45 PM
Aren't you a Buffaloes fan? You should be damn excited; your team upgraded its conference affiliation.
09-02-2011 , 02:47 PM
With that said, the slate for tomorrow is pretty weak. Oregon vs. LSU and Georgia attempting to save America. Aside from following your own team, there isn't much else of interest for a college football fan.
09-02-2011 , 02:48 PM
Yeah and not to mention an FSU fan so things could get real good this year.

I'm excited that the buffs are in the Pac-12 now but this year is gonna be rough with their schedule. As long as they beat CSU it will be good.

i'm super pumped for boise vs. georgia.

i'm not a fan of any particular college team so anytime i get a ranked vs. ranked matchup this early in the season im grateful
09-02-2011 , 03:19 PM
I'm ungrateful for ranked vs. ranked this early since preseason rankings are the devil and shouldn't exist, but this matchup would be interesting regardless given what we know about Boise's schedule after this game.

And here's hoping that LSU puts Oregon in their place, though I'm not holding my breath.

yeah its insane how much preaseason rankings end up dictating the natl championship picture. so ******ed.

I'm really struggling to figure out the context of that gif

It's some SE poster on TV.

Karak wants to bring SE elements into this thread because he doesn't view it as a forum full of morons. I presume goofy's view is even more positive since he ****ing likes WhiteGoose.

i don't post in SE (aside from my occasional post in the twins forum) but i browse a lot. there's a staggering amount of people who have no business talking about sports, so i'm not sure what karak sees in there.

edit: in other news, my high stakes fantasy baseball team is going to be eliminated from the playoffs. i'm pretty pissed off.

Even better, it's a lifelong Calgary Flames fan being shown on national (well, national to Canada) TV wearing a Leafs jersey and celebrating a Leafs win.

It's not. WG is a funny guy though.

Hows everybodys fantasy football teams look?

I have 4 leagues all with friends this year. Two I drafted, one I missed but my random team could be a lot worse, and the other is the only "for money" league, and that draft I think is this weekend.

I was finally going to sell out and play fantasy football again this year after a couple of years of nobly skipping it, but a couple of people flaked on the league now and I'm not sure it's going to end up happening. If it doesn't happen, I'll shrug. Just as well to keep my NFL viewing experience in its purest state.

He likes it because they believe in superstitions and stuff.

lol

SE's humor is just too intellectual for you LKJ
09-02-2011 , 04:41 PM
I didn't play fantasy one year and missed it badly, so definitely like doing it.

Makes me more amped to watch other games as well

yes, and clearly you thinking wac teams are million to one underdogs against the sec is the stronghold of intellectual sports thought.
