Yes they are sadly but it just sucks they beat fsu and have a chance to go to the national title game.
11-24-2012 , 08:48 PM
National title game is doomed to suck regardless now that Oregon ****ed up.

Sigh, once again the natty means zero b/c the real national championship is next week in the Georgia Dome. Both Georgia and Bama would beat the absolute **** out of Notre Dame. I hope this thread has some Domer

dkgo -- you weren't in Athens by chance last weekend were you? I feel like I remember you saying you didn't live in GA anymore. All trolling aside, I expected more out of GT this year. I don't care though. I was at games as a kid when GT was MUCH more competitive and dismantled our hedges after a victory, not to mention the 1992 band thing (most ppl itt too young to remember this cuz I'm old as **** and I was a little kid). Yellow is the color of piss and gonorrhea.
11-25-2012 , 03:13 PM
I was not there. that game was actually a pre-test to see if I was going to fly down to charlotte for the champ game and now I will at least save some money.

GTs problem right now is that they have an offensive coordinator as a head coach. He doesnt recruit defense, and special teams has always been a mess. With a bad defense you cant afford to give the other team the ball at the 40 after every score. Lee could be the answer at QB (although this switching off every two possessions with tevin obviously sucks) since for the offense to really be effective they need to hit 3-4 deep passes a game. With first round nfl talent at WR getting man coverage with no safety that was doable, now it is not. The RBs dont matter as much as long as they aren't fumblers like godhigh, every player who has been in that a-back or b-back position has put up similar numbers.
11-25-2012 , 03:39 PM
Ya a bunch of my GT friends are going to Charlotte. I feel like it's gonna be a huge dumpster fire for Tech, but I commend them for not being fairweather.
11-25-2012 , 03:49 PM
if i still lived down there i would go. crazier things have happened in football
11-25-2012 , 04:01 PM
Tryin to lucksack SECCG sideline passes through UGA's band. I'd probably have to be at the Dome at like 7am on Sat and do a bunch of carrying **** around, but whoooooooooooo cares.

Notre Dame getting the haters absolutely furious. How anyone can think ND fans are more insufferable than SEC dick-riders is beyond me.

Bama is a better team than ND, but the gap is not as wide as you would think. Preliminary reports suggest the line for a championship game vs Bama would open at Bama -7. Now that would probably move a bit, but it's not like ND has no chance vs them. As for Georgia, they have virtually identical SOS as ND, is behind them in Sagarin predictor, and has one loss.

The only thing that means zero is your word. You owe out hundreds to regular SL posters. Instead of being mad UGA got embarrassed in South Carolina and now has next to zero chance of playing in the championship game you should not buy weed for a month and pay your debts.
11-25-2012 , 11:08 PM
lol, if ND and USC aren't you two top hated teams, then you are doing it wrong. I mean, I guess if you were an Alabama fan, you might hate LSU more and vice versa, but USC and ND should be in your top 5 for sure. I can't wait for Bama to roll this fraudulent ND team. What a joke.

Really was hoping for Bama-Oregon title game, but it's unfortunate that ND luckboxed harder than the Giants have with their past two SB wins.

at the last paragraph.

There's obviously no denying ND has gotten lucky, but almost every team has been lucky as well. Their QB is a redshirt freshman, they have no WR talent (unless you count Eifert who is a tight end), and they've still gone undefeated with a number of impressive wins. They've run hot but played well when they needed to as well.

I thought they'd get killed by OU and they went to Norman and wrecked them. Since that game and watching how well Golson and the D can play I think they have a shot vs anyone. Obviously decent dogs to Alabama though.
11-25-2012 , 11:38 PM
3 home wins by 3 against BYU, Purdue, and Pitt is unremarkable and one of those is certainly a loss on the road. Alabama's two close games were against LSU on the road and A&M, which they almost came back from.
11-25-2012 , 11:42 PM
No arguments Bama is a better team than ND by a decent margin. I don't think UGA is on the same level as Bama, nor do I think they'd destroy ND or even be favored by more than a field goal on a neutral field. Sagarin predictor has Bama way ahead of ND, but ND ahead of UGA.
11-25-2012 , 11:47 PM
Yeah, I don't know much about UGA. I assume the gap between them and ND is pretty close.

W00t Nuggets won their 4th in a row, broncos won their 6th in a row and I won my fantasy matchup

ha didnt read the article but yes had i done so, that wouldve been. hilarious use of "if" though. nobody can possibly be dumb enough to believe it wasnt intentional.

LKJ i find myself these days pulling for the skins for geographical reasons. i would still take the jets over them all day every day. can i root for rg3 et al throughout the playoffs? httr!!
12-31-2012 , 10:54 PM
For geographical reasons? That's weird. I can see Lucas Oil Stadium from my apartment and I have no loyalty to the Colts.

Anyway, if you see who the Redskins' first playoff opponent is, it's weird to ask me for permission to root for them this week. However, I would suggest that "throughout the playoffs" is likely to be pretty short for Washington.
12-31-2012 , 11:09 PM
see, that is weird to me. you dont enjoy your friends teams winning so long as they arent your rivals?? actually in restrospect "geographical reasons" was poor phrasing. i enjoy my friends enjoying themselves!

basically 75% of the ppl here are skins fans, its hard not to root for them imo. esp considering i dislike giants as a jets fan, and everyone who isnt from dallas should obviously dislike the cowboys. they are so easy to root for, AND rg3 is super likeable.

I like the Colts okay. I've been to a couple of games, and I've cheered for them at the game, albeit non-passionately. I hosted a SB party a few years ago when the Colts were in and invited many of my Colt friends. Unfortunately they lost, but yeah I was on board for that day.

But I dunno. Colts have been a lucky smoke-and-mirrors team this year, Andrew Luck should be behind Russell Wilson for OROY and he doesn't seem to be, and I'm just downright envious that this city gets to have a franchise QB for like 25 years straight with only a minor interruption. The fans here are cool, I like the city, I sort of shrug at the team. I'll probably root for them against Baltimore, but I won't really care.

Anyway, I like RG III too, and on personal preference alone I'd like them best in the East. But they're the enemy this week so **** them.
12-31-2012 , 11:20 PM
Anyway, if you're asking if it's a sports bigamy issue or whatever, it's obviously not. Super standard to temporarily jump on a playoff bandwagon if your team is out.

ok i agree wilson>luck but dude just so we are clear, OROY order should be rg3, wilson, luck.

although i still think anyone would be insane to not take luck ahead of both of them going fwd. KIDS GOT HEART.
12-31-2012 , 11:26 PM
I'm fine with RG III winning ROY. I'm just not okay with Luck winning it.

I agree with the last bit. Well I don't know about "insane," but if I could just pick one of the three going forward then he'd be my choice.
