SL is all but dead but I think this is a good thread and can hopefully be a positive like it has been in the past.

You know the drill

1. Preform and do well at my current job, don't be a lazy POS
Feel good about my performance at work and my job in general, still can get better and improve though
2. Go to Orlando in September for FSU game
Success
3. Travel one other place
Went to LA and Vegas for the first time
4. Save money towards a new car
No new car but beginning to look
5. Keep gymming 4-5 days a week
Success although more inconsistent once and a while then I'm used to IE 3 days then 4-5 days off which I don't find optimal but overall good
6. Upgrade wardrobe
Success
7. Spend more time with family
Success
8. Sports bet better
Did decent on NFL and CFB although low volume. Still working on being better at DFS
9. Buy a bed so I don't have to sleep on the floor
Told my granma I don't need a bed I'm sleepin on the floor

2017 Goals

1. Continue to grow with my job and perform at a high level. I've had my job for a year now which is good and I think I can continue to improve and ideally look at moving up within the company.

2. Follow current events and the news better than in the past. Whether this is listening to local radio to and from work or going to google news and seeing what is actually happening.

3. Continue to gym - Nothing new here
3A. - Improve on maintenance. IE foam roll every night and get 1 massage/adjustment a month. I plan on lifting until I die so this is crucial especially sitting down all day.

4. Get better at DFS - Improve at PGA, NHL and MLB and then NFL next year. NBA is simply not worth it with a normal job.

5. Read more - This is a big one I struggle with, I will get books that are interesting and then never finish them. Start small and work up.

6. Play more poker. Live and online. The live casinos are kinda far from me but I'd like to play some live cash going forward.

7. Travel 1 new place.

If I think of anymore I'll add them

Feel free to post yours and add any discussion.

in for a few

ill note a few quickly and do it properly later on

1) contract at job finishes beginning of july, will complete access course -> go to uni either 2017 or the year after depending on entry dates/course finish time. if its 2018 then ill need another job for a year (want to avoid this as the jobs id get would be ****)

2) get back into online poker as a source of 2nd income

3) grind/travel from july to september (i went to prague for a week this year, could easily see myself spending 2-3 weeks there), completing access course ASAP and getting into uni will enable this so its good motivation.

2017 Goals
1. I got to do better at being a husband/father. Came to fatherhood kinda late (34) so it has been a real shock to the system. The early months caused a real rift between my wife and myself. We have worked and are continuing to work at repairing this. I want to do more work in that department. I just have to always remember in times of high tension and stress that my wife and baby are the most important things in my life and act accordingly. Helping people deal with divorce and custody for a living just hammers home on a daily basis that I don't want things to go that way but sometimes I feel it slipping away. I can change this. I will change this.
2. Figure out what I'm going to do for the rest of my life whether it be man of leisure, attorney or poker grinder. Just unhappy with my situation currently and I need to either get okay with it or move on.

First a recap of 2016:
1. Read a book every two weeks. I think I've read somewhere between 15-20 books this year, most noteworthy books:

Elon Musk's biography
Predictably irrational
Zero to one
Reinventing organizations

2. Lift a ****load more. I've definitely improved my lifting but not as much as I should have.

3. Play rugby in the 1st league of the Netherlands. Broke my hand in August right before the season started which ruined a lot of hard work, back on the team now and steadily improving.

4. Graduate. Passed my bachelor thesis and handed in my last assignments, should graduate early January.

5. Get better at coaching. After a few coaching weeks I was asked to compete as well so I've been to Hong Kong for uni in October and will go to Finland in February for the toughest competition with an amazing team.

6. Find a job. Started on the 1st of November with an amazing job turning down offers from companies like Deloitte.

7. Pass the GMAT with a 700+ score. Company I work for will pay my tuition at a private university in the Netherlands that's the most prestigious for economics, no gmat needed.

Relationship / girls wise I don't really have any goals. Dated a former classmates for a few weeks which was fun but wasn't something for a longer period of time. Currently have a date setup with a really cute girl from my office in January.

Body goals: Currently weighing in at 255 pounds (116 kilos). I'm at 113 kilos right now (excluding Christmas weight) while I've been unable to lift for 2 months due to a broken hand, looking to improve in 2017.

2017 goals:

1. Date interesting girls and have a lot of fun, ask more girls out (I've been hesitant with this in the past) and in general improve with girls.

2. Excel at work, doing a good job right now but I could be making a bigger impact it being a startup and all.

3. Compete to the best of our abilities in Finland, the competition is grueling and it's going to be a tough run. The team is amazing and very skilled so we can get very far if we prepare and perform.

4. Enjoy rugby in the first class and gain more confidence on the field.

5. Improve my body and be able to smash people on the rugby pitch, become stronger basically.

6. Travel as much as I can. I have unlimited days off from work (paid) and want to do many fun trips with whomever wants to join.

Best of luck next year everyone, I'm looking forward to it

2016 Goals:

Work Out:
- Average 6 times a week: (probably averaged 4.5)
- Better focus on core work(hopefully at least one day a week focus) Ehh, a little more but still want to go extra ahrd for the remainder of this current bulk, olbiques need work too
- Increase flexibility work and/or do some yoga [Was doing good here for a bit, def want to get back into it
- Cut down to <12% BF at some point(always get lazy cutting and just want to bulk again) Probably close like 14% or so
- Bench Body weight x 3 at 12% BF Bascially. Did 195 x 5 pause at 202 BW
- Increase cardiovascular health Fail
Ambitious Goal:
3/4/5 plate lifts B/S/D Fail- Threw out my back doing 375x2 Deadlift, need to get into PT, whenever I load weight >185 on my spine it starts stinging

Life:
- Sex an 8 Nope
- Leave the country once Nope
- Budget time off better and use it for more exciting adventures Nope had to use time off for family emergency
- Vegas Trip Nope
- Focus on finding great job in NYC/Philly Success
- Keep apartment clean(do some cleaning every week, clean while cooking, etc.) Eh at times
- Serious steps towards at least 1 entrepreneurial effort(side income, or resume builders) Nope
- Pick up another hobby (thinking about getting into tailoring, buying a sewing machine, etc.) I have made some ste3ps last couple months which I am excited about, we will see where it leads
2016 wasnt great in terms of hard goal achieving but overall I def improved. Have a lot more confidence in everything I am doing in life. 2017 is gonna be less binary in terms of goals:

Gym:
-Weigh 227 in morning at end of bulk(I weigh myself every morning and record, i assume 227 is like 230 daily weight)
- Be proud of my progress
- Fix my back
- Yoga/Felxibility

Life:
- Expand social circle in new city(Philly starting april)
- hobby expanison
- do some exciting ****
-leave the country

2017 Goals:

1. Successfully open my own law firm

-Decided to open one straight out of lawl school. Hopefully not begging in the streets by 2018

2. Bench 3 plates, squat 4

-Shouldn't be a problem in 17', as I'm already at 255 bench and hovering around 3 plates squatting. Going to milk starting strength for all its worth and think I can get there.

3. 50k income from poker

-Going down a bit w/my goal for this year, as I'll have my hands full with my own business. Still think 50k is attainable, but probably the least likely to happen of the 3.

Lets all get it!!!

Congrats on the new job CC, you still gonna do similar work?

2016 was a letdown in every single aspect. I will be looking to be less of a lazy POS and make 2017 a meaningful year hopefully.

1. Graduate and get in a good residency program.
2. Get out of my parents' house for good and become financially independent.
3. Expand my social circle.
4. Date and bang quality women.
5. Become even fitter: more miles on the bike, more pounds in the gym.
6. Read 50+ interesting books.
7. Keep on grinding: Build the roll, move up in stakes, start incorporating live sessions.
8. Travel to at least one new country.
9. Go out more: listen to live music, bars, visiting friends etc.
10. Dress better.
