2015 was one of my best years for sure. Got a decent paying job, got a car and dated and banged more girls which was one of my goals.

I am not setting any poker goals as my volume will be too low

2016 goals:

  • Date / Bang higher calibre of girls so more 7s+
  • Progress in career or get better paying job
  • Get my own place
  • Go away somewhere this year for a few days
  • Deadlift 462lbs for 1 rep or more , squat 3 plates for 5 reps, get down to 12-15% body fat and maintain it year round

I'll start doing this since I graduated this year also

1. Put 20-25% of income into investments. At minimum have $5k-$7k to start my portfolio with.

2. Weigh 230-240 (depending on how I look) By the end of the year. I measure in at 6'4ish so I think this is a good target weight. Im not a fan of super bulky looks so 230 probably but I have long limbs. ~210-215 rn.

3. Further my cooking skills. Ive gotten pretty good the past 18 months or so but I dont take pictures so I dont participate in the oot thread. Ideally cook an average of ~8 meals per week.

4. Do less drugs (this is an amazing way to meet hot sluts and I dont think I care about a real relationship rn so well see) i actually dont spend much money at all here so not sure how big a deal it is.

5. At least $3k into wardrobe

6. Maybe learn how to code for real, I know a lot of basic stuff and have done some projects but they took a lot of time because I had to learn as I went. Not looking to get a job coding but like cooking want to better this skill.

7. Pick up an instrument, probably the guitar ldo. Maybe thats too cliche though.

8. Play more basketball.

9. Just be a more positive person.

2015 was best year of my life. I put myself out there bigtime this year and I impressed myself in many ways. Moved to a new city, banged girls, went to the bar myself a million times and made friends/had dope nights, developed my photography portfolio, bought my first car, travelled to Florida, experimented with drugs.

There were many struggles along the way though. Girls break my heart all the time and that's both motivating and soul crushing, and something I take pretty hard. I spend too much and then have to eat only eggs, tuna and milk for a week.

Ideally I'd like to find a balance of being strong and healthy, having great friends and girlfriend, going on sick trips to music festivals while playing sports.

1. Get strong - Deadlift 405 for 1, Squat 315 for 3, Deadlift 225 for 5

2. Make lots of money - Get a 2nd job, sell instructional t'ai chi DVD, shoot 10 weddings

3. Play ten songs on the guitar by April 1, 2016 (I can play 3)

4. Take steps to become a policeman

5. No sugar or pizza

6. No PMO

1) Continue passing courses with same level of grades;
2) Be more responsible with money (i.e. decrease spending and increase income);
3) Spend enough time with gf/friends;
4) I can't go to the gym as often as I want to due to other activities, but I should aim for at least twice a week on average;
5) Increase level of productivity overall.

2015: bulked from 126-155lbs, got a job, wardrobe has improved a decent amount too - overall a decent year and has set me up pretty well for 2016.

2016 goals

- drink less: costs too much and affects my productivity/health way too much
- continue bulking: dont have a target weight so ill just bulk/cut as appropriate, ill be working out 4/5 days a week
- continue adding to wardrobe
- have contract extended at work: runs out in july, hoping i get a year extension otherwise ill have to look for something else
- do better at work: i made a really solid start but have let things slip a little recently, just need to slack less and stay on top of things
- move to the city
- save more money: will go hand in hand with drinking less, my financial situation is decent atm but i need to up my savings

I have high Hopes for 2015 with my place coming together, wardrobe getting complete but most of all working out and ggetting in best shape of my life.

2015 Goals:

Poker: No real concrete goals. I want to play a couple tourneys. Big goal is to take a trip to vegas to grind cash/wsop tournies for a couple days/week.

Fitness:
-Join more sports leagues Joined 1 more
- Work out ~4 days a week all year Probably averaged 5
- 50% increase in most lifts Yes
- Bench body weight 5x(biggest imo, dont know how feasible it is but yolo). Weigh 220 right now, did 225x2, not completely but was probably a hard goal especially since all of 2015 was spent at a gym that doesnt have barbell bench(did dumb bell), just moved to a much better gym that opened up that has a lot of racks/benches
- Eat healthy
- Binge drink average once a week AT MOST

Life:
- Get better year end work rating than what I got currently(isnt bad just want to improve) Same Rating
- Sex an 8 Nope
- Casually date some 7+s (obviously with an open mind towards serious dating) Sexed one, maybe 2, casual dating fail though
- Complete Apartment - Fine for now, its a big space and I will be moving soon
- Budget better with Financial aid payments starting to come in. Doing fine, not really an amazing budget job though
- Expand outside of work and friends of co workers social circle to greater than 0(sports leagues will be critical here, also attending other columbus young professional things and maybe even volunteering or something. Who knows)
2015 Was about what I expected. Which is nice, but also means there wasnt much in terms of positive variance(also nothing in terms of negative). I dont think I put myself in enough great spots for positive variance to happen so hopefully I can do better with that and see a lot more interesting things happen this year.

2016 Goals:

Work Out:
- Average 6 times a week
- Better focus on core work(hopefully at least one day a week focus)
- Increase flexibility work and/or do some yoga
- Cut down to <12% BF at some point(always get lazy cutting and just want to bulk again)
- Bench Body weight x 3 at 12% BF
- Increase cardiovascular health
Ambitious Goal:
3/4/5 plate lifts B/S/D

Life:
- Sex an 8
- Leave the country once
- Budget time off better and use it for more exciting adventures
- Vegas Trip
- Focus on finding great job in NYC/Philly
- Keep apartment clean(do some cleaning every week, clean while cooking, etc.)
- Serious steps towards at least 1 entrepreneurial effort(side income, or resume builders)
- Pick up another hobby (thinking about getting into tailoring, buying a sewing machine, etc.)

That's an impressive goal. I assume American plates are the same? 45lb roughly? So like 320lb bench?

So 2015 was a relatively mediocre year for me, so maybe it's worth doing something like this. Even though it wasn't bad by any means, I feel like I life plateaued a little bit, so need a bit of a boost this year.

2015

Work - Started a boring job that pays well at the end of 2014, and am still doing it, though have cut down to 3 days/week to focus on side projects. Slight win that I'm not doing it full time, but would rather be doing it never.

Side Hustles - This time last year I had two businesses which had failed in 2014, and a freshly launched business that launched Jan 1(www.sixr.com.au), basically aussie Grouper. Sixr is still going, and growing slowly, but needs some sort of injection if physical or intellectual capital to give it a boost. Also started out two new side projects in property management and fantasy sports, both of which are early days but looking promising.

Girls - Dating the same girl as I was a year ago, but the relationship is better than it was, so that's a win I guess.

Fitness - After some PBs in 2014 (110kg bench, 130kg squat, 140kg DL) I plateaued a little bit, and am basically in the same spot I was this time last year. Could be worse, but need to drop a good 5% body fat I think.

Life Skills - Bit of a failure, I don't think I improved particularly well here. Every year I want to learn instruments, pick up cool hobbies, relearn Spanish and become a better cook, and every year I fail.

Travel - Only one overseas trip, to New Zealand, which doesn't really count.

2016 Goals

Work - Probably my lowest priority, as I'm actually in a pretty good position working 3 days a week and making enough to live on. Would love a more stimulating job, but it will do for now

Side Hustles - Each have their own goals, and while it's extremely unlikely that all three succeed, I would consider it a pass if at least one of these comes to fruition.
Sixr - Secure investment or take on a new business partner who will help the company to grow to the next stage
Property Management - Company currently manages 1 property (has been going for 3 weeks), the goal would be to have at least 10 by the end of the year. We also plan on putting all profit back into the business to buy our property, so one purchased property by Jan 1 2017 would be the goal.
Fantasy Sports Blog - At least 1k/month of passive income by this time next year, currently on about $90 lol (been going for 2 months)

Girls - No goals, just don't **** it up. Pretty happy here.

Fitness - Lose 5% body fat

Life Skills - Three goals here
- Learn Spanish - Do at least 15m/Spanish 5x/week, plus practice with GF, and attend Spanish meetups at least 1/month
- Improve cooking - Have three go to dishes by the end of the year - Cook once/fortnight this year
- Scuba Diving - Go on 10 dives this year and get open water qualification. Doing my Scuba Diver course at the moment, needs two more days of training later in the year to get full open water.

Travel - At least one overseas trip to a country I haven't been before

Here's to a good 2016

Ya, 45 lb plates. Its 315, 405, 495 respectively.

Definitely a lofty goal, I acutally think I am revising now to something that is very similar but allows for slightly more freedom:

To be 'advanced' lifter in the big 3 on this site: http://www.strengthstandards.co/#/ (at current weight of ~220 would be 300, 402, 471)

My last high rep to failure sets for all 3 are:

Bench: 205x4 (232 calculated max)
Squat: 235x4 (266 calc max, probably actually had a 5th but I never really push to failure in squats)
Deadlift: 355x1 (prob had like 365-370 in me, felt pretty easy)

SO I basically need a 36% increase in bench, 52% in squat, 40% in dead

If I am being a realist I expect to be like 270 bench, 380 squat, 450 dead

Squat lagging super hard because I used to hate doing them(aka would skip a lot) until I got some powerlifting shoes and now love them. Especially like deloading after maxing and doing some 135 pause squats. My body isnt really built for squats becuase I have a long femur, but slowly gaining mobility and they are becoming easier.

If you make that jump in squats, good on you.

- drink less: costs too much and affects my productivity/health way too much drinking much less, i drink on average 2-3x a month
- continue bulking: dont have a target weight so ill just bulk/cut as appropriate, ill be working out 4/5 days a week haven't gained any weight which im actually not disappointed in, i look a lot healthier/aesthetic and get asked if i lift (mostly by ppl who knew me when i was 126lbs or havent seen me in a while, also the clothes i wear help). Have gotten stronger and enjoying doing bodyweight exercises, will still try to gain just cos itll be an improvement but im not really bothered by it
- continue adding to wardrobe has improved quite a lot this year, should be very good by the end of the year
- have contract extended at work: runs out in july, hoping i get a year extension otherwise ill have to look for something else i should be fine, ill know for certain in the next 4-6 weeks
- do better at work: i made a really solid start but have let things slip a little recently, just need to slack less and stay on top of things crushing it at work, have a solid understanding of most things now, helping out in other teams etc, appraisal was good, only 1 area gets noted i need to work on and im consistently improving
- move to the city unlikely to happen this year due to learning to drive instead
- save more money: will go hand in hand with drinking less, my financial situation is decent atm but i need to up my savings learning to drive has increased my expenses, seems unreasonable to save when i have little disposable income but that will change drastically in coming months

gl everyone
tl;dr everything is going well, pretty happy and 2016 is shaping up nicely.

Missed this in January, good to have some things written down, though.

2015 was absolutely amazing, traveled New Zealand for 2 months, learned Chinese in Beijing for 4 months and then traveled through China for 2 months. Came back to The Netherlands to be selected to compete in International Business Case Competitions.

Finished second in a competition of 30 teams in Belgium and was asked to go to the Family Enterprise Case Competition held in Burlington Vermont in January 216.

Tie for first place in the group phase in Vermont vs three native speaking teams from reasonable universities. (Didn't make it to the final on the account of the last case being the decider in a tie). This has been 2016 though.

2016 goals as they were in January:

1. Read a book every two weeks on topics of interest / value (copied off of Mark Zuckerberg, and with Bill Gates / Waren Buffett being avid readers it can't be bad). Current progress is at around +/- 8 books IIRC, not sure on this. Summer will help loads in knocking this one out of the park.

2. Lift a ****load more, the year started really bad for me. All my time was going to studies and I was in a bad place mentally due to the sort of crash you experience when returning to a normal life after being abroad for a long period of time and having more fun than you can imagine. I picked it up on the 1st of March and have been lifting steadily since.

3. Play rugby in the 1st league of the Netherlands, this would mean the top team of my rugby club, I was playing for them before I left the country and was placed on the second team for the past season. Working hard now to get ready for the first team and league.

4. Graduate. Handing in my Bachelor's thesis exactly a week from now, then some things I'm running behind on have to be handed in but I'll definitely graduate this calendar year.

5. Get better at coaching, I've been invited to coach the new teams that will compete in Business Case Competitions and have done some coaching so far, looking to get better at explaining presentational skills as well as problem-solving skills.

6. Find a job (or more than one), there's a year between my bachelor's education and master's education because I didn't have the time to pass a GMAT this year. Finding a job in my field for the year should be very doable. Currently thinking about teaching part-time combined with working at a corporate finance office that's offered a job to me.

7. Pass the GMAT with a 700+ score to be eligible for Harvard, nearly impossible to get in but I want to try. Would consider other USA universities if I get a result that high. If it's somewhere in the 600 - 650 I'll do my Master's in The Netherlands, 650+ would mean taking the test again to secure a 700 score.

Relationship / girls wise I don't really have any goals, not a main concern of interest as of right now, focused on improving myself (lifting, reading, graduating and such) to be more appealing to the target group I guess.

Body goals: Currently weighing in at 255 pounds (116 kilos), unsure of body fat percentage but it should be somewhere at 20%, 15% or so while weighing 265 pounds (120 kilos) seems like a nice goal for this year.

Not focused on cutting at all, I'm a 6 / 6'1 dude, so not the largest but I need the weight for my position in rugby as well as no real desire to lose weight, the way the body is built up is more of a concern. The whole form vs function thing I guess.
06-16-2016 , 09:26 AM
15% at 265 is absolutely insane. You have to be like 6'9 to do it drugless

And even then
06-22-2016 , 10:56 AM
Bit late but wana post this now so I can review it later:

rest of 2016:

- Double my win rate at the pokerz
- Pass all my courses
- Get less fat
- Spend more time with my dad

Overall I think I have performed well and the company is great on multiple different levels, my position is a lot to learn so still grasping everything and about to get a lot more responsibility at least I feel like. I still probably slack too much during the day but hasn't been brought up so may be over thinking it.
2. Go to Orlando in September for FSU game
Tickets booked
3. Travel one other place
Got to go to L.A. for a day with work so semi counts
4. Save money towards a new car
Have saved $ but in no rush to get a new car at this point
5. Keep gymming 4-5 days a week
Success so far, more on the 4 days lately where Id like to be at 5 but making progress none the less
6. Upgrade wardrobe
Going well so far
7. Spend more time with family
Definitely more than last year
8. Sports bet better
Don't think I've bet on one game this year but since Feb have gotten into DFS pretty good, play everyday I can. NBA/MLB pretty hard but fun and help the work day. Much prefer MLB I think and have a better feel for it. Although I want to get a lot better and do well at NFL within reason considering working a normal job
9. Buy a bed so I don't have to sleep on the floor
Told my granma I don't need a bed I'm sleepin on the floor
Other than Misspelling perform above, this year has been pretty solid so far.
