I would pay a significant premium to be able to walk to a very diverse and lively nightlife alone. I would rather drive longer to work and base my decision on outside of work commute tines, but in your scenario, B is best of both worlds.

^ Completely agree with this unless you really can't swing it financially.

I used to live a 15-20 minute subway ride away from work in the semi burbs (which is in the financial district in Toronto, so right beside all the nightlife), ...and life was pretty good. In august I moved next door to work (90 second walk), am paying about $400/month more..........and it's so ridiculously worth it that it's not even close. Life is so much better like this. I work semi long hours, and when I decide I'm done........I'm home. I walk to bars, clubs, concerts, whatever. When I go out and I decide I'm going home, I'm home. Option 2 AINEC

I have a weird feeling LT5 is about to peak super hard between 30-35 (which I guess is when all males are supposed to, but I feel like he could be a special case)

Eh. If the price difference really is only $200-$300, you have to think that even just the extra gas/wear and tear on the car plus the extra cost of a cab a couple times a month when going out will almost make up the difference right there. Factor in the extra time you're saving by not commuting and the convenience of being in the city core it's a no brainer, even if you got a crappier place in the city to start out with.

Speaking from experience, there's also nothing worse than having a bad day at work, you leave and your 30 minute commute has become 1+ hour because of a bad accident, snow, rain, etc. Just the worst.

#2 then for sure. Denver sounds pretty legit, and it seems like one of the few cities where it definitely is worth living downtown.

Those are very obviously fake fyi
01-07-2016 , 03:39 PM
I'd vote fake too
01-07-2016 , 04:14 PM
Not making any accusations, but I've always found it hilarious when people in high school / college say that real >>> fake. That may be true, but how much experience do you honestly have to make that statement?
01-07-2016 , 04:34 PM
I just looked at her IG and it only goes back 1yr and no before pics, but they look fake so yep seems like she had fake boobs from Summer after Senior year and on. Scottsdale is such a ****ing weird place. It's pretty well documented I have a thing for AZ and FL girls but idk they all seem totally ****ed. I didn't get to explore too much of San Diego but I wasn't crazy about it. I plan on traveling to New Orleans this year and seeing how that is.

She's young enough that the may be real, even if it's unlikely. Some people are just blessed.

Emily Ratajkowski at 14 years old....

NOLA is nuts, you'll love it. Went for a bachelor party last year and had a blast, no real desire to go again though.

Against my better judgement, I'll ask you: You are speaking from experience right?
01-08-2016 , 03:40 AM
Denver is not that great downtown, bars close at 1 so you have to go clubbing if you want to stay out. Ski resorts are what colorado is about imo. Still a reasonably fun city though I wouldnt say nightlife is the strong suit. Youll definitely want to be as close to the metro area as possible still as with basically any metropolis.

The tavern has good brunch. Red velvet waffle is great.

Hattie B's spicy chicken.

Just follow eatnashville on IG for lots of good options.

Acme on broadway is a fun bar. Cool rooftop, but may be closed for winter?

Pinewood Social is fun.

I don't know Nashville too well, but had a blast the couple times I've been. Food everywhere is really good. Can't remember every place though.

First Pregame of 2016 tonight. It's the same group of like 10+ ppl in a group chat that kind of just go out every weekend regardless of a special event going on or not so it can get pretty stale. So I'm trying to really set a precedent with the first one. Not trying to make it bigger than it usually will be by inviting a bunch of ppl out (weekend after NYE is notoriously dead anyways). It came up pretty naturally that Kanye is bringing back Good Fridays in anticipation for his new album so we're doing only Kanye and Taylor Swift music and depending what is playing you can only drink Vodka or Hennessy at that time.

The house is a second story with a big front deck so I'm going to try to hang a sheet that says like G.O.O.D. FRIDAY or something else like drawing the Hennessy stock graph. Super fratty for the fact everyone's 25-32 but **** it. I'm trying to make 2016 memorable. I feel like I had less TR's this year due to some combination of trying to impress staff at clubs/bars, hooking up with 20yo- TB-SDSU almost exclusively, and just taking for granted each night. I lost that like excitement and spark I used to have before going out. So ya 2016 I'm going to do stuff like this theme just to make the most out everything.

have fun at the pregame, GoodGame. I hope that the spark you are looking for will re-appear.

Quick question for you guys, how important is it to save in your early - late 20s? or is it more important to use the money you earn to have fun etc till youre ready to have kids and settle down then you plan for the future? I recall Henry saying its not that important to save when youre young and the solution is to earn more money but I want to hear thoughts of people who live more normal lives with okish incomes.

I feel it might not be worth saving much if you earn between $40-$60k a year if you live in a big city but rather wait till youre futher in your career then start saving but im not sure
01-08-2016 , 05:08 PM
It depends on your future earnings curve and your willingness to go back in lifestyle.

I'd say **** saving money and try to increase your earnings. If you don't think you'll ever earn a lot then you need to change that - or save money for retirement.

The thing is your first ten years determine your income after that, so going big in your twenties can make it impossible to ever save money again unless you substantially go back in lifestyle.
