Honest question:
Why would you use stuff like tinder and not just get a hooker? Is it because Tinder is free?
Tinder seems like an app a person who is turned down by hookers would use.

There's this girl at work, but she's in a different department. We've talked a bit as she comes to my office area once and a while for help from a coworker, so we've introduced each other, etc. I'd like to feel her out more as I think she's attractive and has a good ass. Anyways, our work has this messenger program where if you're at your computer then you're available to chat with. This is probably the only realistic way to talk to her at work since I have absolutely no reason at all to visit her area of the building.

I talked with her a bit on it as I had a good reason to (we were at a retirement party for a fellow coworker last week so I talked to her about the party on it). Keep building rapport on it or wait for another occasion? TBH I feel kinda weird using it as when I started a different girl creeped me on it and I could smell it a mile away. Bitch was nuts.

I am talking about Mets btw.

I said nothing about the attractiveness of a girl. If a girl is openly displaying that she isn't interested in you then it is a massive waste of time trying to convince her otherwise.

Especially if you aren't getting success with other women. I would try to change some girls mind if I was already killing it with other women but if you are struggling with all women, you are just setting yourself up for failure by trying to get with a girl that doesn't like you.

It's a self fulfilling prophecy where at the end of it all (when you get rejected) you can just say, 'Ah well I expected that', and come away with no hard feelings which is a terrible defeatist attitude. It is also totally different to 'not caring' because you have set yourself up in this position by choice.

It's an honest question and besides the money, I see no reason to use Tinder over hookers (I use and would use neither fwiw).

I'm not seeing how Tinder is like hookers. I don't really see any similarities.

That being said I can't see Tinder being useful either. I'm saying this without ever looking at the service but I expect the girls will be average at best.

I dont know how it works exactly, but it's a desperate attempt to get laid. There is no other purpose than to find someone to have sex with.
That's pretty much the same as visiting a brothel.

How is OKC or POF any different then? I don't see how it is anything alike a hooker. You still have to work at it to have sex.
07-16-2013 , 07:06 PM
OKC and PoF are dating sites, you got a profile and everything.
Tinder seems like an app where you meet people who are DTF immediately.
07-16-2013 , 07:15 PM
That they are DTF is not the defining characteristic of escorts who are not DTF until you give them a donation.

From what I've read Tinder is basically like a online dating site. That is why I expect it to suffer from all the same issues as online dating.
07-16-2013 , 07:25 PM
I was talking about hookers more than escorts.
And I was talking about one's own motivation to use Tinder over hookers.

I thought Tinder was more like Grinder, where people meet up for the sole purpose to have sex.
07-16-2013 , 07:44 PM
Tinder is just like any dating site except it only uses looks as a characteristic for partner selection, instead of a personality profile etc. Spurious you are way off here.

Why would that be a bad thing?

In real world scenarios it is because the only girls who would use such a service are going to be unattractive but for the sake of argument lets assume we are talking about a method to meet hot girls who are DTF -- why wouldn't that be a huge positive?

There was a Canadian dating site that was market leader for a while and they broke the site down into Casual Dating / Serious Relationship / Intimate Encounters. My understanding is that PoF is basically just Intimate Encounters. If not for the quality issue I don't see why anyone would see this as a negative.

False. For a lot of reasons. Good looking guys clean **** up on tinder and its pretty amazing.

I live in bumble**** delaware so use a wide radius then I would ever actually drive for(think I use like 60 miles) and probably have like 25 matches or something in somewhat limited time, with like 66% of them between 5-6.5 33% between 6.5-8(probably highest).

But there are people on bodybuilding forums that get like 25 matches a day and a lot of the girls are super hot and a lot of times super forward.

Hard to actually see how hot these girls are(most are probably average anyways) but here is the tinder messages of a guy who just "likes" every girl to maximize his matches so he can troll:

2 people date for 5 years. In love. They breakup (not compatible and fighting towards the end).

They now live in the same city (temporarily for 1-2 months before school), both still physically attracted to each other, both realize dating the other would be a bad idea. Is hooking up stupid? Would they fall for each other?

The main difference between tinder and other sites is that there really isnt a stigma to tinder, its very very easy to just create an account, the app sorts people for you, and it can all be done easily on your phone so it doesnt make girls feel like they are putting in effort, which might be a turn off to online dating. It also prevents creeps from just messaging girls.

I am semi strict about :liking" pics just because delaware is a ****ing minefield and I still get a decent amount of matches

That is much better than I expected. I'm going to suggest Tinder to my friend who is doing PoF and see what results are like here.

Depends on the people and how emotionally mature they are. For some people this would be perfectly fine for others it would end really badly.
07-16-2013 , 09:05 PM
What if both parties were getting sex elsewhere though. Have several options. But know that sex would be so good with former lover. Would it be foolish to want a more than just physical experience knowing you'd have to cut it off instantly.

Even if both people are emotionally mature, would/could this still be playing with fire?
07-16-2013 , 09:08 PM
Damn, some of those girls look pretty hot. Probably deceiving as usual though.
07-16-2013 , 09:09 PM
TC, are you asking for a friend?
07-16-2013 , 09:11 PM
No I'm asking for me. I probably sound/am elitist/so is she. Just saw my ex of 5 years for tea. There is physical tension.

Not really, I mean this app is very very popular among 18-24 year olds.
