It has to do with the fact that this is a purely academic exercises. While there is a non-zero probability to these events when the probability gets so low that it is unlikely to happen once in the entirety of universe then it is fine to say something is impossible. The probability of 1:10^50 has been accepted as that number such that something like sticking your hand through a window and tunneling though while having a non-zero probability has a probability that is so low that we can pretend that it is 0.

This is my point. At some point, you must end the game by spinning a non-00. There is no positive probability -- even smaller than 10^50 -- that you just keep spinning and spinning and spinning forever. With probability 1, this game ends after some finite number of spins.

[and again, the proof of that is to assume some putative probability that the game does not end in finite time and show that the actual probability must be less]

Of course there is. The probability of only spinning 00 for any finite number of spins is 1/38^x where X is the finite number of spins. That probability is always positive and greater than 0.

Right. But the probability that the game never ends is 0. If you spin X times and keep getting 00, you (or your successor) keeps spinning.

I'm saying that the probability that the game NEVER ends is < 1/38^X for all X's

The only nonnegative number that satisfies this is 0.

I have an iPhone with the unlimited plan, pretty sure you can't get it anymore. Just get whatever the max is and pray you don't go over (I use my phone a ridiculous amount)

I would try to use it as little as possible. Get a plan that will allow you to check stuff you really need but small enough that you will not use it as a way to alleviate boredom in public.

i met a new group of friends at law school this semester that im very happy about. have had a lot of fun with these guys/girls already and have met a lot of nice people as a result. im glad i finally decided to get involved with an organization and started to become friends with lawl skewl people again. i was just hanging out with my non-law friends most of the time (and tehy are great, don't get me wrong), but having a group of like minded colleagues to shoot the **** with has made law skewl feel like much less of an island (my layman friends dont give a flying **** about law skewl and i dont blame them haha).
