Especially if they move to KC, there is no way in hell I'm ever traveling to Misery for a hockey game. Like LKJ said traveling across international borders is probably a giant pain in the ass. They're bigger fans than corporate sponsors who show up to all the games and don't even pay attention from their luxury boxes IMO.
It's one thing to live in Seattle and be a fan of the TB Bucs or something like that where going to a game would be hella expensive. I bet you can get Islanders tickets for $20.
Hence the 2-3 hour driving distance where making a trip to a game is reasonable, and yet he's never been to one game. So I call BS that he is a big fan.
And no, sporting events are not "stupid expensive" if you plan ahead and pick off nights. I can even get Red Sox tickets for about $30 on Stubhub.
If you are a Yankees fan, you can go to one of their next 3 games against the Brewers who are a solid team for $5 a ticket.
