It's one thing to live in Seattle and be a fan of the TB Bucs or something like that where going to a game would be hella expensive. I bet you can get Islanders tickets for $20.
Hence the 2-3 hour driving distance where making a trip to a game is reasonable, and yet he's never been to one game. So I call BS that he is a big fan.
And no, sporting events are not "stupid expensive" if you plan ahead and pick off nights. I can even get Red Sox tickets for about $30 on Stubhub.
If you are a Yankees fan, you can go to one of their next 3 games against the Brewers who are a solid team for $5 a ticket.
